NCS Div. III
Reasoning being CN is Div. IV in 2010. By NCS rules a football program can only petition up a single division.
Thoughts???

I was wondering how this was gonna play out. Especially now that it will determine their State bracket also.
This might even open things up for a local Div. II team to think about a state game.

I think a lot depends on the backward ways the SJS playoffs work. Rocklin, Grant, St. Mary's, and Del Oro were in the same 'division' last year but could be very different this season.
To give an example on how bad the SJS is, the Div III Championship game had two schools that were much larger than the two Div II schools that played for their championship.

Oops, I knew that but I would be surprised if they didn't petition up.

I would think so too but we have a while to wait until the deadline passes. MC may just stay Div. IV and win a Section title.

I believe Bishop O'Dowd from the HAL will also be DIII. They have a new coach , former NFL player Hardy Nickerson, and as usual will be talented with D1A players abundant. They are expected to place 2nd in the HAAL (behind San Leandro), but also could be dangerous in NCS DIII.
Looks like NCS DIII should be very competitive. CCS DIII will lose two of it's top teams to D1 (with favorites Seaside and Carmel playoff SOS will be lower than NCS)...and SJS loses St Mary's to D2 or D1....Looks like NCS DIII winner has a great shot at a state bowl.

Negative 415, Cardinal Newman is Division IV by enrollement this season by only 4 students. By NCS rules they can petition up only a single division.
Marin Catholic, Novato, Newman, Eureka, and Encinal seem to be the top Div. III teams.

It could be new like when the NCS regulated the petitions for Basketball about 6-7 years back. I heard about this from CN officials so I can only assume its correct.
