just like in Carson...next to no one will go watch.
okay, more than doubling the number of "bowl" games will get more attendance, but only from the involved schools and only a fraction of what "big games" would draw earlier in the season. The playoffs just drag on so long and this ain't texas.
The announced attendance in Carson was always just over 10,000, and that probably was for ALL day, not each game.
I am worried about pushing the season UP for everyone yet another week (late august games? Which would mean late July practices begin, which means even fewer plays going out for football at the 95 percent of schools where state title means nothing.
How about just cutting the schedule back one game to nine games, since almost half the teams make the playoffs anyway?
obviously not a fan of football state titles. It serves the egos of the coaches and the few power schools, but is not good for everyone else.

Back when I lived in LA, I would attend the games at Carson. It was quite the day. Show up for the first game and stay until the last. Long days, but epic.
It was great to sit with the different fans. You would learn a lot about the different schools and the people that support them. I would sit with the "North" side most of the time and would be extremely impressed with the way some of the teams traveled. I still remember Del Oro impressing me the most. They came with numbers.
It's a wonderful day of football and if you are near Sac or can make the trip, I highly recommend it. It'll be interesting to see how well the "South" teams travel...
