When I decided to do this weekly roundup of my SCL, I did not expect the season to look so miserable. But here goes.
--SCL needs to find non league opponents they won't embarrass themselves against. Let's have the middle five teams play each other in four non league games, and then do the 6 game league season. Elsie, don't play any non league games, and Analy can play whoever they want. Just kidding. Sort of.
--I did not expect Cloverdale to steamroll Healdsburg--it certainly adds to the "sky is falling" feeling.
--On the positive side, Analy and Petaluma can really impress when they put together a full game against winnable opponents.
--Piner played Burton of SF, and uncovered a great opponent for Elsie. Cancel the Nov. Analy-Elsie game and let Elsie play Burton.
--Sonoma Valley still finding that fine line between "we'll play non league teams against whom we are overmatched, but will toughen us for league" versus "let's destroy the program."
--If Sonoma Valley is okay scheduling teams as far as Chico, why not schedule some Humboldt-Del Norte teams? They are always looking for new faces to play and maybe SV might, uh, be competitive?
--In fact, not long ago SV was playing Ukiah--a perfect fit. But, on these boards, it is alleged Sonoma stopped the series, and then started to schedule people like McClymonds. Can anyone recall why the series stopped?

Burton doesn't even have enough players to field a team! Elsie could win in a forfeit that would be the only they could win......why don't they play 8 man? Or maybe play in middle school flag football league

SCL is very down this season. Healdsburg losing like that to Cloverdale is a perfect example. Remember that commercial, "This is your brain, this is your brain on drugs..." Well... this is Healdsburg football, this is Healdsburg football without TK. If the SCL weren't so down this season I could see Healdsburg go 1-9.
El Molino is just as down, Elsie is Elsie, and Sonoma is down beyond belief. I'd rate Piner just above Hburg, Sonoma, Elsie, and El Mo. Piner themselves are down. That least Petaluma in second, and Analy killing everyone. Serious question, I wont what Analy can do to get out of playing Elsie Allen. It wont be competitive, nothing but an injury can come from that game.
