Great news.
Hard to believe the NCS is one of the last sections to take action. Here is a quote from NCS commisioner Gil Lemmon.
“We’re probably the last major section that hasn’t enacted some form of competitive equity,” Lemmon said.

Great news! I also read that the team that loses to DLS in the open will still be eligible for a SBG.

About time. Glad to see it applies to many sports, especially basketball. Next step will be leagues based on competitive success by each sport, not just in assigning playoff classification. Who were the 19 who voted against I wonder?

I would imagine that most of the privates voted against it that were forced to move up and play where they belong. I'm especially glad to see that Clayton Valley was forced to move up to D1. I guess them holding their enrollment to 1999 won't work anymore. Marin Catholic is where they belong in D3. CN will be back in D3 after this year unless they petition up. Also glad to see they moved Elsie down to D5. Good to see a true small school playoff division in D5. Salesian had no business being in that division. This is the smartest thing the NCS has done in years.
