So many kickers from last season that made memories for Redwood Empire Football fans.
I'm not going to attempt all the spelling of each players name, but Rancho, Newman, Casa, Sonoma really produced, and thats just off the top of my head.
The one name thats right there with David Eisenhower (Rancho '01-'02), is Nick Marsh who gets to show off playing DI ball.
So where are the kickers this season? Anyone returning or anyone coming up from JV? Anyone know of any soccer players crossing the line?

Rancho Cotate has Julian Wiedmer up from the J.V's he kicked a 43 yarder last year. Went to a couple of kicking camps this summer. Eduardo Farias is kicking at the SRJC this year

Hold on, a JV kicker kicked a 43 yard field goal? I think Rancho puts something in their water or something. Eisenhower McKeon Rowan Farias
The fact I can remember their most recent 4 kickers at the drop of a hat says something.

Sonoma always generates a good kicker. Ray Sullivan (ex college kicker) now accountant/asst. football coach always finds someone with talent and turns them into a great kicker. Unless there are no past soccer players on the Sonoma team; Ray will turn out another great kicker.
There is a varsity kicker at Windsor that has possibility. He had a couple of lessons from Nick Marsh.
St Vinny had a great kicker who graduated last year Sean Rainey, and their punter (QB Josh Josh Wheless) is coming back.

I think I remember someone telling me about David Eisenhower. He was supposed to be something really special. I never saw him play, but I have heard of him. Did he continue playing in college, and where?
Something that is an interesting coincidence is that Nick Marsh (Petaluma baseball & Football), Connor Derby (Casa Football), Shawn Rainey (St. Vinny soccer & football), Ian Williams (St. Vinny Baseball) Matt Gallo (Casa baseball & football), Matt O'Brien (Football & Basketball), Michael Powell (Casa soccer), Quinn Hunter (Petaluma Lacrosse & Football), Vince DeQuatro (Petaluma Basketball & Baseball), and Wesley Poarch (Casa track team) at one time played Petaluma U12 class 1 soccer together. What a dream team huh?
The best part is that Conner Derby & Nick Marsh were known for their huge accurate kicks as 10, 11 & 12 year olds! So gang all you have to do is watch some soccer and tap a kid on the shoulder. Simple as that! Go find the next crew of all stars.

We have Kameron Rose at Piner. He plays for the Santa Rosa United U18 soccer team that is playing in Virginia this week. Rose is also our top WR. Looks like he is going to get a soccer scholarship to UNLV. He will play both soccer and football during the fall. He is very consistent up to 45 yards.

Just talked to Julian Wiedmer from Rancho Cotate and he said he is now in the 45-50 yard range pretty consistently. He is only about 5'7 and weighs around 160 lbs. Don't know how he can kick that far.

David was in fact something special in High School. He played at SRJC where I believe he injured his leg. He then went to San Jose State but didn't kick much for them.

David was completely amazing in HS. At the JC he just kinda went to hell. His kicking took a nosedive and I couldnt believe what had happened. I know he went to San Jose St, but no idea how he did there.

Carrillo's QB Odom is a great kicker but look out for a JV player coming up to Varsity Rosado he may be punting a bit but has a big leg and a HUGE hang time. They have a few other good kickers this year too. Keep your eye on Carrillo this year.

www.utefans.net/message.php?id=873998Check it out. Nick Marsh (Petaluma) was Utah's starting punter. Now he's suspended. That can't be good. It's bad for the team, too! Starting punter is suspended only a couple of days before the first game. He must've done pretty bad, or really stupid.

Whatever happened to the coffin corner punt? Does anyone on this list consistently do that?
It seems coaches insist punters try to place it on the one-yard line to get downed--which rarely happens, and then goes into the end zone--instead of kickers consistently knock them out of bounds inside the 15 or 10 yard lines.

I heard from people over at Petaluma that Marsh was suspended. This can't be good. I was kind of rooting for the kid, too!
