Carillo vs. Petaluma and Casa are real games, not scrimages.

I bet Phil Ferrigno will be at the Petaluma scrimmage. He returns his entire line and the back that ran for 182yrds against Montgomery. That game is thorn in Montgomery's side. And they Play at Motngomery. Montgomery probably will win but it won't be easy. There will be A LOT of "city" boys watching that game. Ferrigno thinks this a down year....should make the game very interseting.

Montgomery had their worst record in 15 years last year. I would not feel too excited about that win in 2008.
In 2007 Montgomery was OK at 6-4-1, and still managed to beat Lincoln by 3 TD's, and Henderson was a much better back than the kid they have coming back this year.
Montgomery may not win 9 or 10 games this year, but they will beat Lincoln hands down.

I agree with 4thqtr. I don't see Monty having too much of a problem with Lincoln this year. Lincoln was a league and section champion (AAA) and Monty was only 4th in league and it was still only a 6 point game.

Monty will destroy the one dimension offense of Petaluma. Monty is to strong for Petaluma. Good thing for Petaluma it is only a scrimmage.

Some teams are going to find out tonight how physical we are this year. Monty is so big and strong this year it is going to be fun to watch.

I hope no one is "finding out how physical" any team is tonight. These are scrimmages. It's tough enough to get through the regular season without losing players to injuries. The last thing anyone needs is a jacked up team either losing a player or taking another player out in a preseason scrimmage.
We've got the whole season to find out how physical the guys who are actually playing the game are.

Finally time to see if some of the walk can match the talk. I know its still early but its finally Football Time!
How many years has Newman & Casa scrimmaged each other? couple years now, right? that one is always good. And good for them to schedule each other (the two best area teams, IMO) for an early look. Those two programs are just leaps and bounds ahead of everyone. Good luck Casa, im excited to see what they can do this year.
Sounds like Monty is getting some buzz with the talk. We'll see tonight if its for real. Hopefully they can step it up this year and make the NBL a little more interesting.
Best of luck teams and lets stay healthy!

Not sure all the buzz about Monty is good. The "finding out how physical" is part of the problem. They have a bit of a reputation already this year for "cheap shots". Since this is only a scrimmage, some coaches may not want to take the risk. I know football is tough and we all know you gotta be able to take a hit, but not a cheap shot which can take you out of the game and/or the season.

To say Casa is "leaps and bounds" ahead of everyone else is a stretch. Casa doesn't have the undefeated league streak that Newman has. A great team no doubt, but hardly invincible like Newman seems to be in the NBL.
