I was really hoping that the CIF would give the Central Section a chance....I think Bullard would have given the Bells a good game.

Nevada Union should have received the nod over Bellarmine Prep. Only loss was a 5 point loss to a 14-0 Rocklin team. Bellarmine Prep was blasted by St. Mary's of Stockton and also had an overtime loss. That same St. Mary's team was bounced from the SJS DII playoffs in round 2 by an 8th seeded Del Oro team.

Nevada Union probably should have gone but the CIF is making it up to Bellermine for keeping them out last year. Plus the SJS has two teams going and we know the CIF likes to spread it out amongst the Sections.

IS Marin Catholic truely eligible to compete for state title? I have information from a relieable source that Marin Catholic had played a 14 year old student in on of their games this year. Not only did this player play, but he scored a TD. If I am not misstaken, a varsity player has to be at least 15 years of age to be eligible to play at the varsity level. If this is true, then Marin Catholic's season and bowl bid should be disqualified. I hope this is not true, because it is not fair for the kids to pay for a coaches mistake. But, if it is true...rules are rules and some action should be taken. Fortunately, for MC, some of the review board members whom would act on these matters consist of Marin Catholic alumni. Maybe, thats how the dissqualification motion was buried and overturn 24 hours after the facts were reported. You be the judge.

If its true, I guess they are done, but I dont see how an experienced coach like Peralta would let that mistake happen.

In my opinion this whole 14 year old player thing is a load of BS, MC got into the state championship so everybody is looking for dirt to dig up about the team. Come on!! This is High School football, not a tabloid magazine!

I don't care about this rumor. So in a blatant attempt to change the topic, how many games will Northern California win this weekend? If I were Vegas and setting a line, I'd probably go with 1. And if too much money was laid on the under, I'd quickly adjust it to .5.

Good article 415, thanks for the info. I know Gil Lemmon, hes a stand up guy, and I think his ruling here is right on spot.
I wonder who filed the protest to begin with...
