So, when are the schedules for the 2014 season gonna be up on here? I'm just wondering what this season is gonna look like.

Miramonte pre-league goes like this:
Pinole Valley at home St. Mary's away Windsor at home Alameda away
This says two things to me. First, Miramonte has no appetite to face Marin Catholic to open the season in a year that will be a step down from last year (and we couldn't beat them last year). Even Analy is missing. Instead, a weaker duo of Windsor and Pinole Valley are added. The second thing it says to me is that Coach Schram intends to stay at D2. Three of the four pre-league games are against D2 teams and two of them (Pinole Valley and Alameda) are definitely winnable games. Even Windsor doesn't look like they will be a powerhouse...though I would love to know what the North Bay folks think about them coming into this season. That means Miramonte will need to win 3 of 5 D2 games to be qualified for the playoffs. Assuming wins over Pinole Valley and Alameda, they will need to win one over Windsor, Las Lomas or Dublin. Windsor looks beatable and Miramonte has little respect for Dublin. Las Lomas I think will be a handful this year!
All in all, a good schedule for a team that won section but graduated 90% of the starting lineup. Its not pathetic, but definitely a step down. Also remember that DFAL could be tough this year. Campo will reload, Las Lomas will be way up, Dougherty Valley could be a step better, Dublin has their top three threats back and Acalanes will tread water. Its conceivable that Miramonte could be competing with Alhambra for the cellar!

I went to each SCL high school athletics site, and discovered...that staff is likely overworked and updating websites is not high on their to-do list.
Analy had their full 2014 schedule up--guess we should not be surprised. In addition to SCL, they open with Casa and Carillo at home, and then Montgomery and McClymonds away.
The Montgomery game will be a goodie....there are too few good SCL-NBL clashes. I guess going to McClymonds is Analy's bid to gain notoriety down south, but doesn't send excite me much.
Petaluma sort of has their schedule up, obviously incomplete...only list one non league game, that at Jefferson Daly City (a weird choice in my estimation...)
All the others schools.--well, most have info about sign ups and physicals, etc., so that's useful. Guess my SCL is just not on the cutting edge of the big-time programs, aggressively promoting their name and craftily scheduling with visions of bowl game invites.

I checked Terra Linda's schedule, and they are facing Petaluma away. I noticed that it seems some MCAL teams are taking their preseason to the next level, like Novato facing Sutter, Redwood facing Carrillo and Northgate, and Tamalpais facing Hercules.

Not really sure about MCAL stepping up their schedule this year? As it is they've always seemed to look to schedule up and tend to have more intruiging pre season march ups than the SCL or NBL (sans CN) who often just do an interlock anyway. MCAL teams have recently played the likes if Northgate, BCP, Foothill, Berkeley, Paradise, Vaca, Miramonte, SI etc. in the past few years.

They played Jefferson last season at home and will travel there this season. With all due respect, Jefferson was a team on the same level as Elsie Allen and El Molino.

I Find it interesting that Sutter will be playing El Cerrito , Novato and Justin Sienna.
EC seems to be taking a big leap after losing a lot to graduation Sutter , CN and Amador Valley 1,2,3

Just noticed, Berean Christian and Hercules are switching divisions in TCAL for this season. I actually kinda like that change.

A couple of comments:
Sorry Pez, but Miramonte's preseason schedule is weak for a team that wants to compete as a top tier team in D2 or D3. Windsor will be their toughest preseason game and could very well beat them. Great season last year though. Where did their QB end up? He was fun to watch.
Bella, Other than MC, 2 games for Novato, and two games for Redwood the MCAL preaseasons are a joke. The NBL's preseason is far more intriguiging and they face much stiffer compitition. Casa and CN are playing big boy schedules as they should. Windsor and Montgomery's are tough too (Besides Dublin). Ranchos, Carillo, and Ukiah's are solid.

4th Quarter, "Weak" is relative. Windsor is a credible team and I think you are forgetting that Miramonte still has defending D4 champion St. Mary's on their pre-league schedule. I think St. Mary's will be better this year than last. That's two tough games for a rebuilding squad. Perhaps if you were HC you would schedule four awesome teams to prove your mettle, go 0-4 in pre-league, but I'll stick with Coach Schram's plan. Besides, hopefully winning some games early will get the army of new starters (most of whom will be playing their first varsity games) some confidence going into the tough league schedule. If Miramonte is going to be good it will be later in the season. Why dig a deep whole early in the season and fail to make the playoffs about the time that perhaps his team starts to come together? Drew Anderson is at San Diego State. Preferred walk-on (or whatever its called). He deserves better, but I'm guessing he was viewed as not very mobile. Truth is, he runs OK but Coach Schram wasn't going to risk "the franchise" by letting him run for yardage. With very good pass protection and talented receivers, Miramonte was in any game as long as Anderson was chucking balls down field. I think we made the shrewd decision that Anderson would not run even if it meant an additional regular season loss or two. Wow, I just saw this today...Drew Anderson named East Bay Male Athlete...great article: www.contracostatimes.com/my-town/ci_26041940/east-bay-male-athlete-year-drew-anderson-miramonte#disqus_thread
