Well, all of Petaluma's starting line was soild, but I've been told that their second teamers could have filled any of their shoes in a second. I think it should be more like LINE of the year. So yes tonytiger, there SHOULD be a 7 way tie for the award.

Basically there are many players out there in the SCL that don't get the recognition they deserve solely because they are not on petaluma or casa grandes team.

Yes and no. It is hard to ignore the standouts on the two best teams in SCL. The teams who win, get the most attention, I agree with you on that. But Casa and Petaluma's All leaguers deserve all the credit they got, because to be honest, 9/10 times the players who got 1st team recognition etc. on those teams were the best in the league, and their stats show it. Every year there are players that some feel get shorthanded, but but I'm sure the selection committee tries their very hardest to make things fair.

Russell from Petaluma He was the true team leader he was petaluma's missing link in the triple option should of at least got a first team. without him Sullivan and simms would not have Gotten MVP Petaluma would not of gone 10-0 . last year what happened 5-5 both Simms and Sullivan where in the back field. sorry but a QB that was the main core in a 10-0 team should of got first team or a three way share of MVP it was a triple option not a double option team. lame pick in my eyes.sherry could of shared it with Russell but that would be it everyone else 2ND team. Also i heard simms was not happy with a share. he will take it but he was not jumping up and down saying me and my friend got MVP.

SCLFAN, If that's true about Simms, then he is a good liar. I talked to him myself and he said he was more than happy to share with Sean. I felt he was genuine in his comments. Yes, Russell was a good player on the team, but Team Leader? That's a stretch. Anyone who played on the Petaluma team knows that Russell was never considered a team leader. You're wrong if you think Sullivan and Simms wouldn't have gotten MVP without him. I hate when guys, or gals, come on the boards and post this BS. Quit trying to cause drama where there is none. Let the players enjoy their accomplishment of sharing MVP and stop the trash talk.

Mikey was a wonderful QB but I think more important this year that was missing last year, was the O-line. You can't really compare their 5-5 record to this years 10-0. Sean and Ricky both a year older, and much more athletic. As for sims not happy, I seriousy doubt that.

Scl fan you are wrong. Ricky was totally fine with it. It was an honor for both of them. Russell's very talented but do not even compare him to Sean and Ricky. You can make an argument for 1st team, but MVP...C'mon son!

Mike Russell, Sean Sullivan and Ricky Sims were best friends long before this season ever happened. Their friendship was created years ago outside of football. I bet they loved accomplishing everything that happened this year and it tightened their friendship even more. Mike Russell does deserve more credit. He was a very important part of this year's success and did a great job running the ball when required, and passing very well. In a way he was the third running back; who had the ability to throw.
Stop making up stories that don't exist. Petaluma did well because they played as a team and this bunch of kids were special. Just enjoy the moment!

Simms winning MVP was just a better story. Sullivan was the MVP of PHS and the SCL. In fact, A coach told me when they voted it was 4 votes for Sullivan and 3 for Simms. Then they decide for them to both get it. A little unfair to a good kid who i felt was mistreated by his team. Petaluma Coaches should be ashamed of themselves. How is it a kid can win team MVP his junior year and not his senior year? With way better stats? youre joking right?

Sean and Ricky are friends. This isn't cool. They both deserved it and are happy for eachother. What is this about. Enough.
