The coach's move from San Marin is making all the more sense now to me ...the impressive thing is that Goyer was able to finesse being hired at two jobs at once...Drake and Tam are not even in same school district, correct?
and before we get carried away, is there "official" word on this?

San Marin's loss is Tam's gain. There is never enough cushion in Novato when it comes to money. The other Districts in Marin receive sooo much more money from the state and feds. I can't blame him. The final vote for money for the district is actually in June not May.The May vote is for everyone in the state...the June vote is just for Novato...if it doesn't pass there WILL BE issues with the athletic budgets at both schools.

Did you read the comments with the article?? Sounds like SM will not miss HC Goyer!! One comment implied that a teacher from Casa will be the next coach at San Marin...Anyone know who that could be??

I've heard there is some interest from San Marin in hiring Harrington, but I dont know if the feeling is mutual. He was one of the coaches looking at the job at Casa. If he's willing to stick it out at SM for a good few years (hopefully at least 5, to provide stability), why not give him a try. Considering SM isnt the best program in the world recently, he could be the next coach.

thanks, coachjed, for breaking this news....it does sound to me that Goyer had a number of solid legit reasons to make the move (a Larkspur-Novato commute could put a crimp into anyone's family life, let alone a busy high school coach) ... here's hoping San Marin can fill the position with relative ease...
