Ferndale will beat Mckinleyville by 30. That is a LOCK. Ferndale will also easily win the section title this year without a challenge and then play in the small school state title game because of an impressive preseason schedule and wins over teams as high as Division III.

Sorry, with the win over Del Norte you can include a win over Div II team. Impressive for school that has less than 200 students

St. Vincent vs. Cloverdale is the game of the week in Sonoma County

Agreed homer, nice to have a week 10 game with a league title on the line. Mustang, I think Ferndale will win it all as well. But I think Salesian has the athletes to compete with them and I would never count out Middletown.

Agreed, Ferndale takes McKinleyville easily. Not so sure about Div. IV. Gonna be a log jam for the top three spots.
I think St. Marys get #1 with big wins over Salesian and St. Pats. With only two losses to Encinal and Heritage thats pretty impresive. Salesian also has big wins over Middletown and St. Pats.
Both Salesian and Ferndale will be league champs. That'll be huge for Ferndale. Ferndale just needs to be seeded over Salesian to lock in home field through out and force teams to make the long trek up north.
Div IV 1. St. Mary's 2. Salesian 3. Ferndale 4. Middletown 5. Cloverdale 6. St. Pats 7. Ft. Bragg 8. Justin-Siena

Ferndale goes 10-0 and should receive the best seed possible. I havent looked into St. Marys schedule a lot, but they do play some big boys. St. Mary's and Ferndale will duke it out for the top spot. Salesian should get number 3.

I think St. Marys goes number 1 with SOS. Ferndale is the real deal they just havent played the caliber of teams that the Panthers have. The Bay Shore league is no joke this year either.
Salesian might even pull the #2 seed with their win over Middletown.
So I see Ferndale possibly falling as much as #3. Still, just the fact that a school under 200 kids is mentioned with these other programs is a feat. Not trying to take anything away from the Wildcats.
Funny how a #3 seed would almost be disappointing for a Ferndale team. What a legendary program!
It will be interesting if they(NCS) open Div. IV to more than 8 teams with Berean Christian, Mckinleyville and Valley Christian on the bubble.

Game 1 goes to the first Dale.
Cloverdale completely dominated St. Vinny's 38-7. They had a great plan for the game and executed it perfectly. They made big plays when they had to and forced big turnovers.
They shut down the Mustangs offense and did what they needed to on offense. St. Vincent didnt have an answer to the Eagles Defense. IMO Cloverdales defense proved they are the best in both the NCL North and South last night. The Eagles came up big on a Championship night.
I've seen both teams play this year on numerous occasions and I, for one, did not expect such a one sided game like that. Cloverdale was the best team on Friday night. They dominated a very good St. Vincent team. That win was huge going into the play-offs.
That win locks in Cloverdale at #5 in my rankings for a VERY competitive Div. IV bracket.

Game 2 goes to the second Dale. Good call Zorn.
Ferndale pulls away in a close 4th qtr to get the win 27 - 13. Good job McKinleyville. Closer game than most thought it would be.
Makes for an interesting Div.IV Play-off Seeding. We will find out today how it all pans out.

Reading the paper online. Sounds like Ferndales QB broke his collarbone in the 2nd qtr yesterday. That definately hurts their chances against Salesian or Middletown.

Why Cloverdale? They beat Fort Bragg after FB fumbled six times and they already lost to Middletown at home, and that game was not as close as the score appeared.

Berry is a very good coach in both basketball and football but I don't see Cloverdale as good as Middletown who is just too physical. I would pick the Mustangs by 14 if they play.
