I guess you are correct...I do remember reading not long ago that he was only a junior, but everything I just looked up indicates he is in the class of 2010...

I'm sorry, but until I see a video of him benching that, there is no WAY I'm going to believe it. I mean, that's seriously INSANE!

Agreed...seriously, indeed. As I say, I have no reason to doubt this, nor any "proof" to refute this. If true, I still say...WOW!
Even for a senior...

The bench press stat is for real. At the lift-a-thon last spring, he benched 450. There were a lot of witnesses for that. As for the forty time, Soma has consistantly run a 4.6. I defenitely could see him running a 4.5 on a good day.

I heard Soma miised the bus when they left for their top secret hotel today. He will be benched for the first half by their coach. And if you believe that then go ahead and believe that he benched 465 as originally reported. laughable. Tremendous player, best I have seen in a long time, but he is NOT superman. He does not eat lightning and crap thunder. And he is very fast for his size, but 4.56, again laughable.

I think he was making a joke htown. Im not sure if i believe the bench press or not. I mean 465 is crazy but I don't have a real reason not to believe. As far as the 40 goes, not true in my mind. 4.56? C'mon. I see him as a guy that a 4.6 to 4.75.

mustang...you could be right, but how in the hell would you know? 4.56 is fast, not crazy fast, but fast...possible. 465 bp is high, really high, but if this guy is a super specimen, true standout, not out of the realm. I had a friend in high school, not a serious lifter at all, and only about 175 lbs. who was just naturally strong and he benched about 370...so a guy who works out a lot, is bigger framed and just naturally very strong...well 465 is really, really high, but not out of the realm.
I'm not prepared to annoint him god and king kong and anything else, but the numbers sure do pop out, and unless you have something to go on that would genuinely refute the data, it's just crazy to out and out call it a lie.

I never said, LIE, I said laughable cuz I dont believe it. And obviously I gave him credit as the best player I have seen in a long time. My post was meant to make people laugh.....eat lightning...crap thunder......as Shrek would say......."Hey Donkey".

Now go back to page one of this post and tell me who started this thread about Soma and the Eureka team. Oh yeah it was me. Get a clue....

I saw at DB from DLS at the gym incline 120 dumbells about 15 times with ease. The kid was about 5'8 170.
Soma hitting 225 30 times flat is very possible.

Well if he truly is working out THAT much to the point where he can bench such an incredible amount... I don't know what to say. If he did bench that much at the combine, video? However for a guy of his size a 4.56 is darn fast in my book. I'm not sure what players like Keys and Sullivan are clocked at but I'd say that's nbear the same. Any word as to whether or not the 4.56 was hand timed? Maybe I'm sheltered, but I've just never seen kid like this before.
