San Rafael beat Acalanes and San Marin upset Alhambra!

Good job to both teams and great work to both coaches! its great to see the MCAL be more than a 2 trick pony........I hope Coach Hall stay at SR for a while let them build something, San Marin always was a tough program in the 80's and 90's hopefully they can stay strong as well as they were a great rival for MC back in the day (so many of the MC kids are from Novato and played San Marin pop warner) |

Yes it is good to see San Marin back and competing. They did have some great battles with MC in the 80's and 90's and produced some great players back then.
One of the best games I ever went to was when MC finally got over the hump and beat SM on a muddy field @ SM to win their first league title in 83'. Can't remember the score ( I was pretty young), but I remember the MC players celebrating well after the game. Somewhere I still have the IJ with a picture of Ken Greco celebrating the win.
