Miramonte and Kennedy-Richmond finished up their lighning-delayed game. The Friday night game ended with Miramonte up 21-6 with 2:59 left in the second quarter.
Play resumed and Miramonte scored quickly before halftime and then scored again early in the third quarter to go up 35-6; the Eagles simply had no answer for Ross Anderson's running. From there on, the Eagles put together two strong drives connecting often with their corps of talented receivers. They scored twice and added two two-point conversions to keep the game from getting out of hand. Miramonte scored once in the fourth quarter for a final of 42-22.
Miramonte had the better prepared team with lots of playmakers, but Kennedy-Richmond could and should give some teams trouble with their extreme size (at least 4 guys at or above 300 lbs) and bevy of talented playmakers. Kenny Walker (Cal commit at WR) is as good as billed and the Whitley brothers (listed as 6-1 200 lb sophomores - and they look bigger than that) are up-and-comers. Usually when I see a team, I think they are much smaller than their listed weights and heights. In the case of Kennedy-Richmond, they seemed significantly larger than listed even though their listed as being pretty huge!

Good to see JFK Richmond putting up some points on a good program. Hopefully they have turned a corner and will start getting some wins.
