Will try not to whine too much this week....
Points for creativity and effort to El Molino and Healdsburg. They dreamed up a trophy for their game, "The Paddle," to the winner each year, based on the school's shared proximity to the Russian River.
A bit contrived, but the schools are taking a proactive approach, since the El Mo-Analy rivalry does not look sustainable, at least in football, and Healdsburg's spirited but too brief rivalry with Windsor looks dead for the forseeable future. So they decided to try to build something, since they have played for several decades now, ever sine El Mo opened in the mid-60s and they are now about perfect for each other, competitively and enrollment wise.
Hard to conceive Petaluma lost to Sonoma last year, even tho Petaluma far better; so the Trojans showing good form in taking care of the Dragons.
Piner faces Petaluma, that should be fun to see if the Prospectors can do better.
