I would imagine they would be placed in an Eastbay League or even the MCAL before the NBL.

I'd think they would go back to the NBL. With the talks of Hogan and Vallejo doing the same (going back to the NCS) as well, I could see a two division NBL down the road with maybe a few tweaks.
People (including on here) have been talking about Analy going to the NBL that could be a possibility of evening out the number of teams.
Surprised Benicia does not want to come back into the NCS. Seems like the DFAL is a good fit comptively and travel wise.

Why did the Napa schools leave in the first place all those years ago? It makes sense for the Napa County schools to join NCS based of geography. The small Napa schools have been in the NCS for many years, maybe 20 years for Justin-Siena and St. Helena and forever for Calistoga.
St. Pats is in the NCS I think it would be great to get the Vallejo schools and Benicia to rejoin. Benicia plays a few NBL pre-season games already. As for the Fairfield and Vacaville schools SJS travel is not as bad although they would be a great addition to the NCS.
I see a reshuffle within the SCL, NBL, MCAL and maybe some NCL teams in creating new leagues.

Wow, at first I was floored. But the Napa paper article did out point a solid if mundane reason--traffic on I 80 that takes them ages to travel to the rest of the section.
No doubt there will be a shuffle in NCS anyway. I can't imagine any of the NVUSD three going to the SCL or MCAL--my understanding is that those three are very large comparatively, though the news article said they were losing enrollment. But I doubt the EBAL wants their teams to head up to Napa. It would be interesting to know what Napa schools are thinking.
The old NBL (pre 1976) was Vallejo/Hogan (now closed, but there's a new one in Vallejo, can't recall the name)/Napa/Ukiah/Santa Rosa/Petaluma/Montgomery, with Vintage added for just a year or two before leaving. Please correct if I am wrong.

So it's a done deal, unanimous vote.
Correct on the old NBL. Bethel took the place of Hogan in Vallejo. I would think they would loo towards the NBL as the best fit. Maybe two divisions and add Analy.

Interesting article in the Elk Grove (near Sac) newspaper... www.egcitizen.com/sports/grant-football-to-the-sfl-napa-schools-leave-the-section/article_53c95b02-ef35-11e6-85fb-4b4aabc3be76.htmlIn Sac Jouquain section, for next realignment, Grant football and Modesto Christian basketball only will play in a tougher league and remain in current less competitive leagues for other sports. SJS admin says they don't like splitting sports among different leagues, but "there was no other solution" to those specific teams dominating their current league. I am thinking follow their lead--just swap Analy football for Ukiah or Santa Rosa football, and that way we don't have to disrupt all the other sports. Also says it is possible Vallejo schools want to join NCS, too, but for now, Vallejo schools are proposed for an awkward 9 team Solano County league, once Napa schools leave.

Waiting 1 or 2 years before taking analy out of the scl might be a good idea. They have always been a below average football program until the last 5 years. With most of the staff gone and losing some key seniors, I don't see them being as dominant anymore

With most of the staff gone and losing some key seniors, I don't see them being as dominant anymore I tend to agree, but here're has been a lot of push for it. There almost needs to be an intermidaite league between the NBL and SCL. I think Analy would do fine the the NBL, but not be in contention for the title most years. Exactly what has happened to Casa and Windsor (every 4th/5th year they have a title type team) but most years they will be a 4-3 / 3-4 type team in league.
