I couldnt believe Sonoma beat Napa. Is Napa the new and upcoming Novato?
Tough luck on Newman vs. Liberty. Game was a lot closer than the score. I've still got to say I'm surprised at how close it was.
How about Rancho Cotate? A 5-0 start with a legit schedule. A win over Campo who beat Marin Catholic. They have a week off before they play Newman. Empire game of the year?

Hats off to San Rafael for dropping 63 on Elsie Allen! 2 wins in a row, gotta start somewhere

Came to post about Napa, but late to the party. Damn the Indians have really fallen on hard times, but didn’t know it was this bad.

Not much of a surprise, but how about San Rafael ending their long MCAL-drought yesterday with a win over Novato? Went through 7 straight seasons without a league win.
What was a big surprise though was Sonoma Valley shutting out Justin-Siena.
Also, I definitely didn't expect Newman to dominate Rancho like they did Friday night. I was kinda hoping for it to be a close game.

The Sonoma result was very much so a surprise. Their defense has been playing pretty well. Lost 14-7 to El Molino. Lost 6-0 to JFK-Richmond, only gave up 8 points to El Camino, and now shut out Justin Siena. They have three wins with three games left to play. If they can get their offense in order hopefully they can steal two wins.
I think the 42-7 halftime score from Newman vs. Rancho surprised everyone, including Newman. Their offense has so many weapons its just unreal. Newman shut down Ranchos passing, should be interesting to see how the fare against Ukiah's offense.
Napa still winless at 0-6 but should pick up a pair of wins before the season is done. How the mighty have fallen.
How about Eureka at 7-0? That 41-13 win over Ukiah is looking better and better as time goes. Still have to play Del Norte (6-1) and Fortuna (5-2).
Santa Rosa could finish the regular season 8-2. How about that!

How about the 2 upsets so far in the playoffs? Terra Linda coming thru against the undefeated Pinole Valley, and Justin Siena getting revenge with an upset over Piedmont.
Also, crazy how Napa actually went 0-10. Definitely would think they should've pulled off at least one victory.
The Monty-American Canyon game was definitely interesting. Defensive battle for most of the game, then offenses came exploding throughout the 4th quarter. Interested to see how AC does against Rancho next week.

I had a feeling Pinole was a paper giant and wouldn’t take a punch to the mouth very well. I don’t think AC stays within 4-5 scores of RC

I also figured Pinole was nothing special but to see them lose to Terra Linda was more than unexpected.
Maria Carrillo under-performed yet once again, surprise surprise. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
Sure is nice to see Monty on the winning side of the game again, hope they can keep it up.
Here's something that I didn't expect... all the talk of Cardinal Newman being considered for the NCS Open Division. I think had Clayton Valley not upset Pittsburg, Newman would have been playing De La Salle this weekend.

Im glad CN ended up where they did, especially if they get a date with like Valley Christian or someone like that in the NorCal game it should be a good one.

I bothers me a bit that Cardinal Newman is a Div. IV team that has to play up in Div. III, then if they win, had to play up again into Div. II for Nor-Cal.

It’s the same problem Marin Catholic has too, but at this point these schools can hang with anyone really outside of the Big D1 schools. I mean Central Catholic has the same issue and they are even smaller, it is what it is. NCS wise CN should be in D2 competitive equality wise playing with MC, campo, BOD, RC, Granada, etc

This is the best Eureka team I have seen in years. They have a legitimate shot against Cardinal Newman in the Div 3 Championship. Not saying they will win but that game has the potential to be a lot of fun.

I know it’s looking ahead, but what’s your take on Las Lamas? Kinda hard to read with being dropped down to the Valley division. Thier schedule was not great, really had to read. Newell is a beast and having Lomgeto back at the helm is huge. I just don’t know if I’m sold on them this year?. To me they are the wildcard in this bracket. Pretender or conteder?

Great season for Las Lomas but just not on the same level with CN and Eureka.
