CalPreps has them ranked as follows. Anyone see it differently?
1. Santa Rosa 2. Montgomery 3. Piner 4. El Molino 5. Elsie Allen 6. Healdsburg
I would agree on Santa Rosa and Montgomery due to student body population. Santa Rosa has a good QB in Trevor Anderson but they will again be run oriented. Montgomery has a lot of confidence but graduated their two QB's, but Gavin Hals will anchor that line. I don't know much about Piner. El Molino could provide an upset or two. Jalen Hall is a great athlete and should have a strong year as long as QB's can deliver the ball. Healdsburg looks like they will have a team which is an improvement over last year

Heard Elsie Allen isn't fielding a team this year. As for Healdsburg, I'm pretty sure they have a team this year.

Heard Elsie is not fielding a team as 8 of their players "transferring" to St vincent Heard SV numbers are really going to be up. Curious if any of these 8 will be if any impact for them. Seems like Trent has got them going in the right direction.

Who would have thought the days Elsie was going 1-9 but suiting up 40 players on varsity was their glory days.
Perhaps they need to step back for a few years, varsity and JV, then reengage with football a few years down the road.
Redwood did the same thing in the 90's and has fielded a competitive team ever since.
On a positive note, I think it's great to see Santa Rosa's program making progress. For so many years they were battling Elsie Allen for their only league win in the old NBL, now they may win a league championship.

It's too bad the program at Elsie Allen never got rolling, there were some very competitive seasons with multiple wins a season when the campus was new and shiny and the school had a diverse population with Arterberry coaching. Even until recently they would pull in some good to very good athletes and football players. There was even a youth team that played at Elsie Allen up until early this decade. Now the good athletes from the area seem to choose Montgomery or Analy. The 2 Roseland Charter high schools are also taking many of the good students and both now have 8 man football teams. That being said there are schools in other parts of the state with similar demographics that have successful football programs.
Any truth to the 8 transfers to SV from EA? Are they eligible to play right away? It seems odd that 8 families would go from South Santa Rosa to high price tag Saint Vincents and all be football players. It wouldn't surprise me that all 8 could be from traditional Catholic families that want a small school experience. It just seems like an exaggerated statement to me. What is SV trying to be, a Sonoma County Mater Dei? I'm not super familiar with new NCS transfer policies or the SV tuition structure. I don't recall CN ever getting very many transfer players other than a token here or there.

If there is any truth, I'd be willing to bet some scholarships needed to be awarded. Trent Herzog may have persuaded the administration that those 8 players would mean the start of a return to power for St. Vincent. Herzog can coach up any player and improve any team. Those players could be the difference between an "improving" program and an "improved" program. Would be great to see the later and watch St. Vincent bring home a division championship once again.

Just saw the SV has been admitted into the NBL for the 20/21 school year. Not too far fetched given the declining enrollments and demographic changes at some of the member schools that impact football particularly. Very difficult for 6 team leagues to have members cancel their football programs just before the season begins.
There are some solid NCl I programs who are competing in all sports but most, like Fort Bragg, St. Helena, Middletown and Clear Lake are not on the 101 corridor, SV is.

Should be interesting with SV playing in the NBL.
