Heard Monty coaches were sick of Meredith after one weekend at Reno coaches clinic. That is going to work out well for Monty...why did they hire him?

One staff I'm not that familiar with is Montgomery, so I couldnt even venture a guess on why they would hire him. Running a new offense (the pistol) requires a new kind of QB's coach, I just didnt know Meredith was that specific coach.
No idea on whos with Tomlin at Piner. I would very much like to know more about him playbook and coaching philosophy. I dont know about anyone else, but Piner has the ability to turn a few heads this season. They have a great QB coming back as a senior, and i hear Tomlin like to air it out. Im looking forward to seeing Piner and Tomlin in action!

Hi guys. This is Coach Tomlin, the new football coach at Piner High School. I was at the QB clinic at Casa Grande today and this website was pointed out to me by one of the coaches. I logged on here when I got home and found a great site filled with passionate fans. I can see that I am an outsider to Sonoma County Football being that my background in coaching is from Humboldt County. I would love to answer any questions anyway has for me. You can ask me questions on here and I will do my best to answer or you can e-mail me at mtomlin19@yahoo.com and I will respond when time allows.
I wanted to thank Coach Lloyd and Coach Cronin for their time and coaching they provided to all of the QB's today at Casa Grande. Coach Lloyd provided great training as to the mental part of playing QB and Coach Cronin provided outstanding QB tecnique training. Thanks coaches. Also thanks to Coach Herzog for all of the ffort he put into this training day. Coach Tomlin

Tomlin sounds like a class act - something Piner certainly needs! Good luck, coach -we wish you all the best at PHS. All schools in the NBL and NCS will benefit from your success at building a strong program.

I talked to new j.v. assistant coach today. Learned that Tomlin has 11 coaches total for Varsity and J.V. 7 varsity coaches and 4 J.V. coaches. The new j.v. coach is Glenn Solis. Solis has previously been head j.v. coach at San Mateo H.S. and Hillsdale H.S. in San Mateo. Solis was also a running backs coach at San Mateo Junior College. I know.... I must be bored to care about the j.v. coach but just thought I would share. Also learned that last night Tomlin had all of the coaches on the field and walked them through the fly offense for 2 hours. Can someone educate me as to what the fly offense is exactly? Tomlins staff is also law enforcement dominated. Tomlin is a narcotics detective at Santa Rosa Police and three of his assistant coaches are Sonoma County Sheriff Deputies. Note to self...Dont steal from Piner snackbar!!!

nblfan, the fly offense is an offense that is based around the fly motion (AKA jet or speed sweep motion). Its focus is to get outside the defense quickly with the full speed motion. Lots of play action off the motion and counter capablity. Relies heavily on speed by the skill position players (especially the motion man, who should be your best offensive player with your QB) and a speedy line that can control the edge. The coach up at Willamette is well known for popularizing this offense. Some local teams that use a version of this offense are Carrillo with their Wing-T they will run fly motion. Also up north, Foothill has made their shotgun fly a potent offense. Intersting scheme for sure. Speed Speed Speed.
