Newmans offense is going to be pretty new with a number of players that will need to step up, as it will be their first shot at starting on offense. Their defense will need to really dominate their opponents to win games. It cant be a level of defense like they had in 2007. Giving up 35 to Central Catholic, over 40 to Del Oro, and over 30 to Oakdale was way way too much!

Newmans receivers all have great hands .James has a accurate and strong arm and has speed. 3 listed RB's last year as juniors but with Ferg and Badger playing We never got a look at next years prospects. O line will be strong as they had lost a few from injury early last season but returned well and ready.

Dont count Ukiah out of the playoffs. With our knew coach and a stud Chad Pittman at QB we will be in the hunt. We also return some real good linemen. We will show how good we are. We open up at Casa and we will be able to compete with them and anyone else we play!

Even with the new coach, Ukiah has lost a lot of talent to graduation, and especially with the way Burris left the program, I dont expect Ukiah to go .500. I think they are a 5th/6th place team in the NBL this season.

I'm not sure about Monty beating Newman. What's the Newman QB situation?

may be close but newman has a few sleepers that are going to surprise alot of people..My prediction is Newman plays in Oakland next year for NCS title.

I think Newman is built like USC, they never have to rebuild, they only reload.

Don't under estimate MCHS. This year's Varsity team was a great mesh as JV and they will proove something this year. :-)

Im looking for Carrillo to finish tired this season. Pure and simple, in my opinion, Monty and Rancho are going to have a big drop off. Carrillo needs to have a good enough run to be able to beat both Rancho and Monty if they are going to be serious. Even in 2005 when they beat Newman, they still lost to both Rancho and Monty. Carrillo should have the power and coaching. Look for Ukiah or Santa Rosa to play the role of the spoiler. Both teams will be towards the bottom half of the NBL, but will still be talented and well coached enough to be a threat to anyone. Piner should be interesting to watch as well, but should still be a bottom half NBL team.

LIKE YOU SAID BEN, THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE FOR POTENTIAL SPOILERS IN THERE. NEWMAN SHOULD BE THE FAVORITE AND THE OTHER TEAMS MAY KNOCK EACH OTHER OFF WITH SURPRISE UPSETS SPRINKLED IN.

Offensive line isnt everything. I dont have any reason to believe Monty will be any better than they were last season. Their main offensive players have graduated, and a lot of their key defensive players are gone too.
