Ooof, not a great game by the SCL point of view. Way too many turnovers.

Why did the SRHS running back get to play in this game? He did not play as senior because of grades. That does not qualify him as a senior all star in my opinion.

Oldfan, I don't think he was the deciding factor but you have a good question. How did he get on the team? He is a great player, but I don't remember him being anything special during the 2008 season due to lack of playing time.

What a fun game to watch last night. Here are some things that stood out to me last night. *The NBL looked about 50 pounds and 3-4 inches bigger up front than their SCL counterparts. It showed as they dominated the line of scrimmage opening several big holes for Mcgowan and Badger. * Matt O'Brien(Casa) is a pretty darn good QB. He was running and throwing the ball well last night. When the SCL brought Glass from Analy in to QB they could not move the ball. Glass was staring at the pass rush and panicking instead of looking downfield. * Great showing for Healdsburg players last night. Andy Phillis (LB) was outstanding as he seemed to be the only player that could tackle Badger and Mcgowan. He had an INT and was all over the field laying big hits. Fountain and Baliestrieri made several exciting plays on offense. *What a great touchdown catch by Japheth Burns (Piner-WR). Hit by 2 players while coming down by ball. * In the end though it came down to just too much Mcgowan and Badger. What an outstanding combo in the backfield. Congrats to all the players who participated as they gave great effort and gave us fans a great game to watch.

Why were there 5 players from St. Vincent and 1 from Tomales(Marin County) in the SCL-NBL game yet no players from Windsor? 5 from St. Vinnie.......really? ?

I meant no disrespect to St. Vinnie or Tomales. I think 1-2 players from St Vinnie is alright. Tomales is in Marin County so I would rather see 1-2 players from Cloverdale and 1-2 from RVC. Is there another small school I am missing.

Firemanbill, Tomales has ALWAYS been a part of the all-star game, Even when it was against Marin co. Yes they located in Marin, however alot of the students are from Sonoma co. And oh bye the way, The "Small school kids" (S.V.-Tomales) have regularly shown that they can play with the so called "Big Schools" players. So you saying no disrespect, is in fact Disrespectful!

Therman was fun to watch only if he'd been able to play all season last year. Baliestrieri played well .The hounds would have went far if he and Shippey didnt get hurt. Why wasnt shippey out there and where was Ferg/Wright? Overall good night of football ,but the tri tip sandwich wasnt as good as Newmans

Ferg is probably at Truman St getting ready for class and football, Wright was probably not allowed to play. UC Davis woudnt want him to get hurt, but then again, Kyle Wright played just before he walked on with UTEP.

Joe Ferg is recovering from shoulder surgery. And Kyle didn't want to play. Davis would of allowed him to play if he wanted to. He will be redshirting this year as it is.

It would be intresting to see a couple from Cloverdale get an invite and participate int the All-star bowl does Cloverdale coaching staff know they can be included? also, what is the deal with Windsor not having anyone? I heard that Langhals was gone to Hombolt but they shoul dhave had some representation definatley could have help the SCL

It's always a big decision for players to be in an all star game the summer before they start college....I think many college coaches do NOT want their incoming players to play, though they may say publicly that it's up to the student. So the student has this and moving to school and other worries, etc., so I can understand why they would decline.
Agree that Cloverdale and RV Christian should get in on the game too, but it is definitely something that a coach needs to coordinate (like they aren't all busy already--cheers to the coaches who help out).
Who knows...maybe the Windsor coaches encouraged some of their players, but they all declined for whatever reasons?
Yeah, Tomales is not Sonoma County but do have big traditions of playing "north" and not other Marin schools.
Hey, if Tomales is in it, why not Ukiah? It traditionally plays Sonoma County teams too, and is not all that much farther (by miles) from the county line than Tomales.

I love it when as many kids as we can get play. I do feel that they must have played football at the high school and graduated from the high school.
I felt we missed out on some great players due to injury or college restrictions such as Talen Hinks, Conner Derby, Matt Matt Nadolski, Nick Marsh and any other players that I missed.
