NBL Supporter brought up the subject of who was a sleeper player in the NBL, now I want to see who you guys think is a sleeper team in the empire that could really make some noise this season.

Ill take Piner. If a few things go their way, they will turn heads. They just moved up to Div. II so even with a few wins, they probably wont make NCS. They will need at least 6-4 to get a low seed.

Yeah I agree with NBL Petaluma is a front runner in the SCL. I'm going with Carrio in the NBL and Healdsburg in the SCL. Carrio has a chance to have the best team that school has seen in many years. Healdsburg I belive will have another solid season with Tom Kirkpatrick coaching. I'm not saying they will win SCL but another eight win season would not be out of the question.

I hadnt heard that much talk about them yet, thats why they were my "sleeper". I do agree they are generally a front-runner. I guess I was talking about a team I think can win it all not just a lowly team having a surprisingly successful season.

I say El Molino is the sleeper in the SCL. They have a great QB this year, and they look well coached. Their big issue still is the number of players. Their team is small and will tend to tire easily and have few players to choose from. It sure would be fun for them to have a good year.

ELMO!!! wow that is a bold prediction since they won there first league game in over 6 years last year beating Analy. The QB for elmo didn't play that well the sophmore i don't remember his name, they ended up giving the job to a senior RB to stop the bleeding. The main thing I would worry about with Elmo is the offensive and defensive line.

Well, I love an underdog. Plus, I love the whole Elmo deal. The small school in a beautiful place, the announcer that is loved by all, and a team that gives its best every year. It seems as if the whole town turns out for the game. I really want to see them win a few this year. My kid did not even play football there.
As for the QB, I would say he is a notch down from Nick Sherry at Casa. He is a lot faster than Nick, but Nick just looked better to me. Both are big kids with cannons for arms. From what I have seen he appears to be the second best QB in the SCL.

Well I hope it work out for them, in the years I have lived in Healdsburg and followed Healdsburg football, I have never seen Elmo have a good team they always have sucked. So Maybe this is the year they turn it all around.

I always hope El Mo does well, but they are the little fish in a big pond.
