I have heard from a reliable source that Coach Cronin will move Jack James back to WR & start a sophomore at QB.

Wow really.. that means that matt sullivan will take over.. he was a good qb on freshman.. i wish him the best of luck. James has the speed and size to be a good receiver in the newman system..

I have known Sullivan since he was a mitey mite and he is quite the competitor. Should be a good challenge to him.

If this is true, they have the perfect game to try him out on with Elsie...not too much is likely to go wrong with making a move at this time for this game.

Yes very true.. but James is a solid leader on the field for the cardinals look for good things.. Sullivan should be able to step in and take over.. he has done a great job playing receiver so far this season..

I think its a big mistake. James never had the time in the pocket playing those calibur teams that were in preseason. Let him get his confidence back during elsie game.

I'll let others more familiar with Sullivan and the CN team as a whole decide if this is the right move or not. But fundamentally, I am not sure I agree. On a team lacking in offensive talent, I'm not sure taking your 1st or 2nd best player on sticking him at WR is the right choice considering WR's are involved in perhaps 8-10 plays a game. It would be like sticking your best pitcher in the closers role. Why limit his innings when he has more value and can be more productive starting? Same thing here as I think James potentially helps CN being more involved in the offense and touching the ball more than a handful of times in the course of a game.

This move could either help newman or bring them down.. James as we all know can lead the offense but has had a slow start so far.. i agree let me start against elsie but what will that prove.. but who knows.. we will see how things play out

With two good quarterbacks that Cronin wants to keep in the mix, how about a true 11-A offense. 2 quarterbacks at a time.

They have the players to run a wildcat or wishbone offense.. but whatever they decide to do at the Qb position.. it will have to involve keeping Sullivan and James on the field.. James has the size to play anywhere on the field, but where would he help them the most is the question??

What makes you guys think it will be Sullivan taking over?
This is taken from Padecky's blog that gave an update on Jeff Badger at Sac State. "The older Badger" being Jeff's dad Lance, who is Newman's head coach on the JV team.:
"The older Badger said he had a sophomore quarterback on his JV team, Zack Rodriques, “who throws the ball like a young Randy Wright.”
Could they be pulling this kid up?

If they already have a Soph on Varsity, it would make sense that they would be sticking with the one they already have.

I saw Sullivan today with his family.. He was saying that James decided to step aside and play just defense because of the pressure that he had at the QB spot.. look for good things from james at the safety postion.. and Sullivan is the starter for the remaining games this season for newman.. By the jv Qb that badger was talking about is legit.. but will probably be pulled up for playoffs.
