wow, i didnt expect James to step aside like that. Im really impressed with his drive to make the team succeed. Some players want to play only a certain position period, but being taken from the QB position by a volunteer basis is pretty cool on his part. Good luck to Newman this season.

Well, this is assuming they make the playoffs. Newman has the opportunity to get it's legs and regroup in the next 3 weeks as they play the bottom teams in the NBL, but if they happen to lose to Rancho and Montgomery, thus ending up at 5-5, do they still make the playoffs? Sure they had a brutal pre-season, but if they lose to every quality team that they play (not saying they're going to, but it certainly is not out of the question), is this a playoff worthy team? I really don't think so.

After 3 weeks even with 3 wins, it is clear the Newman offense is much weaker without James at QB. No matter if James stepped down or benched, it's obvious to be the wrong chioce and should be corrected by the coaching staff. If Newman wants a chance to beat the harder schools in the NBL James will have to play some QB and get more touches

Zach Rodrigues was Piners JV QB last year. Another potential stud that transferred out. Piner lost Rodriguez and Jabari Young. They have got totally hosed by transfers.

With good players coming out of the Piner program, you know Piner can do well in the future. With thier current coaching staff, Piner is only going to get better, regardless of how slow or fast is happens. So many good players have come from Piner, so when Piner starts to get better, they will be encouraged to stick around.

I wonder if Ford wishes he played he could have been the starting QB now.

What happened to him? Is he playing this season?

Ford wouldn't have made a difference at QB, either. He's only playing basketball now.

Give sullivan a chance.. James is doing a fine job at WR and TE.. and running the ball.. Sullivan is young and isnt doing a bad job running a newman team..plus the league isnt that strong so he should finish the season strong.. i say newman wins league and gets smashed in ncs..
