Oh snap, Newman lost, but I'm having a hard time finding a reason on why to drop them in the rankings...
Under Newman is Carrillo (cause they beat Rancho), and Rancho Cotate.
Carrillo has beaten Elsie, Rancho, and Piner, while losing to Santa Rosa (who Newman beat)...
Rancho has beaten Elsie, lost to Monty, and beat Ukiah. Considering Ukiah hasnt done much yet, and that loss to Carrillo means they must stay below the Pumas at least for now, where do they fall?
Newman played three state powers that are on a different level than Empire teams. Other than that they were 3-0 with wins in league. Their sole loss is to league leading Monty.
So exactly... where and why would I drop them? REALLY trying to not be a Newman guy here, so I pose this question... On what we have seen and looking at pure results, where do NBL teams fall in NBL rankings?
As it sits now, the only change was Piner moving over Santa Rosa:
1. Monty 2. Newman 3. Carrillo 4. Rancho 5. Ukiah 6. Piner 7. Santa Rosa 8. Elsie Allen

Ben, Can't argue with 1st and last in any way at this point in the season. I do think The Ranch is a better team than they have shown so far. Your rankings are right I think.

That loss to Carrillo really hurt Rancho. With that loss out of the way, they would be a number 2 ahead of Newman, but instead they stay at number 4. The rankings havent changed that much at all this week, but next week will be very different. Casa and Windsor, Newman and Rancho, Carrillo and Ukiah, even Sonoma and Petaluma. Should be a great week for football!

I think Rankings should be posted they way it happens. Wins, Points etc. The Rankings should be 1. Monty 2. Carrillo 3. Newman 4. Rancho 5. Ukiah 6. Piner 7. Santa Rosa 8. Elsie Allen
Rankings are rankings and they are earned spots. And until the end of the season all the schools move up and down and that's how it is. It should not be based on because someone thinks they are just a better team. That's not fair. Carrillo shouldn't have lost to SR and Rancho shouldn't have lost to Carrillo but it happened and that's where they are at.
Ok nuff said my 2 cents.
GO PUMAS!

I completely agree! Considering the only common opponent of consequence with Newman and Carrillo share at this point is Santa Rosa, it keep Newman on top. Should Newman lose to Rancho, they would drop to Ukiah's level (who will play newman the following week).
