Surprising? Yes. Shocking? No. The Sierra Foothill league is a tough league. Many know about Del Oro, and Granite Bay but they are both behind the undefeated Rocklin, and Woodcreek is next in line behind those 3 schools, with a Cal Preps rating of 22...this would put them, for some perspective, right in the middle between Casa Grande and Montgomery - obviously a team with some talent that can (and apparently did ) put it together for one night and upset a highly ranked team...surprising, but not shocking.

DO is a solid team, but the SJS D2 is the toughest playoff division in Nor Cal this year. I think DO will loose to Rocklin and then be bounced in the 2nd round of the SJS playoffs.

You're right, I didn't know anything about Woodcreek outside their record, so perhaps shocking is a tad strong and I'm notgiving them enough credit. But my remark was more about Del Oro than Woodcreek. Before this game they were averaging almost 45 points a game. Granted they racked up some big numbers against some inferior talent, but I am shocked they were held to 9 points. But after reading the game recap in the Auburn Journal, it sounds like turnovers and penalties played a huge part in the game for Del Oro. And you're 100% correct about the level of competition SFH League.

Im shocked, Del Oro always seems to struggle with this program. Its either been a close loss or a close win over Woodcreek. Thought it was going to be different this season.

This week will be a true test to the talent on this years Del Oro team when they travel to Rocklin to play the undefeated Rocklin Thunder. No matter how their regular season ends up I don't see anyone getting by Grant in that ever so tough playoff bracket.

If you look at the history, Del Oro always seems to have issues with Woodcreek. Inderkum is undefeated and still dominating their schedule. Will be interesting to see them in the SJS playoffs.

Inderkum is a very fast team, but a little undiciplined at times. The only trouble I see them having in the playoffs is with Vanden. Even if they run the table and win the SJS, their strength of schedule more than likely would keep them out of the State Title game.
