What does everyone think of Dumont, Bowman and Laron?? After seeing them play last week, I was very impressed by the way they ran the ball and got quite a bit of yards per carry.. Laron stepped up, and showed that size doesnt matter, has great speed and vision.. Dumont was cutting back a few times looking for holes and getting in the open.. hope to see more of that this coming game.. Bowman is a strong running who will run you over if u are in his way.. not the quickest guy for the cardinals, but will get the job done if u ask him..

Im mostly impressed with Laron, I really dont know what to say. I cant wait to see more of the Newman running game. Bowman also looks to be a great future players for Newman.

Actually, in this case, size did matter. I'm sure it was difficult for the defense to see Laron behind the linemen until it was too late. This is the case at every level when you have a small back.

Laron, Dumont, James, Bowman did a very good job running, but the real differance was the blocking. In the spread Newman had 5 linemen blocking, now with the wing "T " there are 10 blockers in the box putting more hats at the point of attack. In addtion the lineman played with renewed sense of energy and were all over the field blocking until the whistle blew
Congrats to the blockers who opened up the holes

Makes me wonder if Newman will go back to the Toss this week too. With Ukiah being only 2-6, no telling on the offense, and will Carrillo already knowing how to defend against the Wing-T, this week would be a great chance to get more practice on the spread. If both offenses are going to carry Newman to the playoffs, they will need to practice them both often. Ukiah would be a good chance.

The line is very predictable though.. Laron is a good back for this set.. but i really wasnt impressed by their running abilty against maria carrillo.. Other than that big run by laron the running game was pretty quiet.. I say semi-finals is as far as newman will go with this set and offense..

Semi-finals? I think this is even a stretch...they are likely a 7th seed at best, which would have them playing the 2nd seed, barring an upset, in the 2nd round (probably Casa). If they are an 8th or 9th seed, then they play the #1 seed in the 2nd round (we all know who that will be!), so I think their season ends in the 2nd round of the playoffs, at best.

it's absolutely mind-boggling that CN doesn't have a passing game. What's up with that?!

I'm surprised that Windsor gets the home game...both teams 6-4, but CN's 4 losses were vs. much better teams. I think Newman should have been the 8 seed, thus getting the home game. Any thoughts on why they were seeded the way they were?

The committee gave a lot of respect to the SCL. All teams are in except Elmo.
Better that the playoff game be at Windsor anyways, at least they have stands for the visitors, and Newman's parking is a joke too.
