Newmans issues always take the forefront just because it is the program everyone loves to hate. Private schools follow the code of conduct and players and parents are informed what is expected from the get go. no 2.0 no football i'm curious if newman would have asked for waivers if any of the players had sub par grades.

I think you guys are jumping to conclusions on Peleti Gore, I'm just going by what rancho said and he said that Peleti Gore missed a lot of school right before grades came out for the 2nd grading period. If that was the case then most likely Peleti-Gore was most likely given "I" or Incompletes from his teachers. What that does is that it gives you a fixed amount of days to complete the work (usually a week or two) and when you turn the work in, you are given your new grade and the Incomplete goes away. But the bad part about Incompletes is that it counts as an F on your GPA. So that's why his GPA was so low, but now if he changed some of those Incompletes to decent grades he would be eligable to play.

If anyone knows the history of Coach Conroy at Rancho Cotate they would know he does not put up with anything from any player no matter what posistion they play or how good they are. But Mustang you are correct, if it were a newman player people would be talking a lot of trash because of Newmans winning tradition. I say let the games begin and may all the kids play hard and have fun. GO COUGARS

This is a really late reply, but a kid with a 1.33 shouldn't be playing. But do any of you know why he got a 1.33? NO, i am a close friend to the family and he had some undelightful news that happened in his family, this kid is a very smart kid, dont under estimate that. But for any 16 yr old boy to go through what he did, i can guarantee the same thing would of happened to them... And no, no strings were pulled for all those fans who think there was.He had to make up all of his work and thats how he got to play.I mean to go through a death on a wednesday of his mothers birthday and still go to practice and play agaisnt Petaluma in the same week, or the same boy who had a funeral all day then afterwards played Montgomery.Yeah all the kids that had went through hard work and dedicatoin to keep their grades up, much gratitude and applause to them for doing a wonderful job in doing so.But do not start saying stuff whenm you dont know the whole truth.

A 1.33 is unacceptable for any student especially those playing sports. Sounds like some priorities need to be rearranged.
