So far, we have seen 2 playoff games that have been regular season rematches...could there be more on the horizon? Monty and Casa is a distinct possibility...and a lesser, but still possible scenario could have Monty and Newman in the championship game...if this were to happen, no doubt Monty would be looking at payback from the pasting that Newman laid on them 3 years ago...but then, of course, it was only the Redwood Empire championship game. If it were to happen this year, it is the NCS Div.II championship.
Again, a far fetched, but entirely possible (if not very plausible) prospect...but as rematches have already marked this year's playoffs, who knows???

Could be Petaluma vs Casa championship. That would be a rematch

Right you are...so I'm going to say, in going with the theme, that it will be Petaluma vs. Casa in the championship (rematch), or Monty vs. Newman...

You can forget any rematches in the title game. Eureka will for sure be in the title game. They beat Pinole Valley 61-7. Ouch.

Should we annoint them now? Impressive no doubt, but still they have to play and win...don't think you can pencil them in yet. Monty was up 45-6 at the end of 3 quarters...they too could have won by a comparable score, but nobody (and rightfully so) at this point is presuming they will be there either.

Well, now the only rematch left is casa-petaluma...could happen, but lots could happen before that too.

If Monty wins tomorrow night, it's Casa and Monty once again! I think it will be a war just like the first time these teams hooked up. But I don't know why, I like Monty to win the game.

whoops! I started this thread and forgot all about Monty and Casa!...Yes, one, or two possible rematches. As for that potential game, I don't know what to make of it...Casa can be anywhere from good to really good...Monty seems to be peaking, and there is no better time to do so...I think you're right, htown - it would be a war!

So far I'd have to give a slight edge to the teams that lost their first meeting. I realize that both RC and MC lost their respective playoff games to Petaluma and CG. But I find it interesting how both Petaluma and CG had seemingly easier games the next week against opponents they hadn't faced earlier in the season. And when you consider Clayton Valley beat Concord after losing to them in the regular season, and I think there may be some truth to the difficulty of beating a team twice in the same season.
So I guess that bodes well for Monty should they advance to play CG and/or CG should they reach the finals and play Petaluma.
Regardless, I'll be checking out the Monty game tomorrow night and pulling for the Vikings. 3 out of 4 Sonoma County teams in the NCS D2 semi-finals sounds good to me. Sure would be nice to check out both games without even leaving the county (they would stagger the games, right?)

Newmanfan, you can come watch Eureka play at Petaluma next weekend. The Loggers still have to get by Ygnacio first, and it won't be a walk in the park.

loggeraxe I hope you guys win, just so I can see what this Eureka team is all about. Because everything I have heard about you guys has been through the grapevine, I really have no clue what this team is all about.
