Open
De La Salle vs. Oaks Christian
Div. I
Bellermine vs. Edison
Div. II
Rocklin vs. Crenshaw
Div. III
Modesto Christian vs. Parker
Small Schools
Capitol Christian vs. St. Margaret's
My North picks are more hopeful that the CIF selects for good match-ups over strictly by the numbers. (even though they arent supposed to)

Grant misses a 21 yard field goal wide left as time expired to get beat by Rocklin.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Del Oro beat Rocklin. Either way a ver good Inderkum team could be the odd man out. If they beat a solid Del Campo team this Friday that would leave them 13-0 and on the outside looking in.

I'm going to take Del Oro to beat Rocklin. This I agree with. Not because I think Del Oro is necessarily the better team, but primarily because I like the team that lost the first game in the rematch. It just seems beating a team twice is very difficult when talking about teams that are both talented. And after what Del Oro has pulled off the last two weeks, do you really want to bet against them?

I was at the Del Oro/Folsom game and left right after the 3rd quarter when they were down 21. Boy what a mistake that was, but it was 30 degrees outside and I didn't bring my snow gear to keep me warm. I have seen DO play about a half dozen times this year and those kids never quit. Rocklin did just pull off a huge upset, but I think that DO is the team to beat. Calpreps.com has DO 28 Rocklin 24. Should be an awesome. By far the toughest bracket I've ever seen. Do is 10 points away from being 13-0.

Thank god Edison plays Servite this weekend, that should eliminate a major threat, though Crenshaw is about the same level.
Definately not looking forward to the Small Schools game though. It doesn't really matter if the CIF picks Parker or St. Margarets

NCS Commissioner Gil Lemmon did not even mention Eureka when he was interviewed on Comcast during the De La Salle/Pittsburg game last night. That shows that Eureka has zero chance for a bowl game. Rocklin will be the Div II rep. Can someone explain why Inderkum is a norcal Div III team but only eligble for state bowl as Div II. I heard the announcer say that during the De La Salle game.

Enrollment numbers for state are different than section numbers. Novato is in the same boat, DIII for NCS but DII for state. When we played Oceanside we had about 1300 for enrollment and they had about 2400.
my picks for state.....
Open DLS vs Servite DI Bells vs Bullard (yes, their numbers are very close to Oceanside who is now DI for state and the favorite to go to Carson. Central section teams get overlooked every year and this is their year to get a chance) DII Rocklin vs Crenshaw DIII Marin Catholic vs Serra Small Modesto vs Parker
Just my two cents.....

Best case for the NCS:
Open: Rocklin Div. I: De La Salle Div. II: Eureka Div. III: Marin Catholic Small: Modesto Christian
Del Campo beat Inderkum last night, so Eueka is going to have a shot at Div. II if Rocklin is moved up to the Open spot.

DLS - Open
NU - DI , although I could see this going either way with BCP.
Rocklin - DII
MC - DIII
Modesto Chr. - Small
