Congratualtions, it looks like Serra is up next in the DIII bowl. As suspect as MC's pass defense was against Analy, it looks like Mr. Woods might pose some serious problems for the Wildcat D.

Best of luck on the bowl bid. I hope Marin Catholic gets the bid. Serra is a great team. They had a crazy upset win over Oaks Christian. Seems like the Southern rep for D3 is always a stacked team and high favorite. Best of luck!

Is MC even going to be chosen. I keep hearing about a Modesto team for Div III. Tough choices for committee today.

If the CIF wants the games to be competitive on all levels, it would be wise to put Modesto in small school since their enrollment makes them eligble for both....granted, they may be stronger than mc, the small school game last year was a joke and the CIF knows this. Marin dominated Encinal and their strong showing against numerous DII teams this year makes a strong case to rep in Carson for DIII.

I believe the Modesto team you are talking about is Modesto Christian and they fall under the CIF North Small Division...so Marin Catholic appears to be the top contender for CIF North Division 3...correct me if I'm wrong...

Many of the small schools are also eligible for DIII. Modesto's win vs Central Catholic put their ratings high enough for consideration for both games.....they will be in carson for one or the other.....;o)
pulled this from norcalpreps:
Division III: Marin Catholic
Many of the top teams in this division were eliminated from consideration in the playoffs, but Marin Catholic was able to win the NCS Division III title against Encinal by a score of 27-0. This puts the Wildcats at 13-1 with their lone loss coming by one point to St. Ignatius on the opening week of the season. Carmel (12-0) and Seaside (10-2-1) also received consideration, but neither posted the record of Marin Catholic or played the competition of the Wildcats to make the jump.
Small School: Modesto Christian
Modesto Christian was pegged for this spot since day one and only needed to win its section to secure it. After beating Placer 61-40 on Friday to win the SJS Division IV champion, the Crusaders will now be headed to Carson to play in the small school game, which turned out to be a bit of a black eye last year for the state bowl committee. Look for Modesto Christian to have a much better showing than last year.

Interesting. So basically Modesto Christian gets to choose whether they want to play Serra or Parker...fun decision! Either way, I hope they make it more of a game than Hamilton City last season.

Modesto doesnt get to pick. The CIF picks and Modesto has to accept whatever they are selected for.
Div. III is open to ANY school under 1250 schools. Which includes all small schools. If Modesto is higher ranked than Marin, they should get the nod for D. III. But we all know that wouldnt be the greatest match-up. We'll have to wait and see how the committee handles this situation.
