Montgomery looked good considering they did not have a RB by the end of camp. Jabari Young (ineligible) Ciudad Real (injury) and Jesse (injury) did not play. Their senior QB looked very good and they are big and strong up front.
One player at the Blue Chip Camp really stood out. He was a defensive end from Novato (#58 dont know his name). He destroyed every team he played and no left tackle could stop him. He looked to me to be a Div 1 prospect. Novato was definately the strongest team at the camp.

Gator19 did you get a chance to see the Novato QB ? I understand he is the returning starter from last year in which he was a sophmore. I have heard rumors that he has put on 30 pounds of muscle and has worked out hard over the off season just curious on how he looked.

I really look forward to seeing Novato in the next few years including this year. Last year was a very down year and they still managed to finish 8-4. As far as Coach Brackett goes that isnt too good but as far as Tamalpais goes, they finished with the same record with is their best in decades. If an 8-4 year is very down I can wait to see what Novato does this season.
The bad news is Novato is playing Heritage (which they should beat by 7-10 points) and Bellarmine. these two contest are going to be very tough considering Bellarmine returns so many players from last years two time CCS Open Championship team. And don't forget Foothill from the EBAL is still on the list. Ugg, Novato is going to be a story in itself this season!

Gator19 I believe #58 is J.T. Pelikie a 3rd year varsity starter. Ben coach Brackett as always has really picked some tough non-league games I could see Novato starting league 0-3, but they will be a better more experianced team for it and if they win 2 of those games and win there section it would be hard to pass them by for a return trip to Carson

#58 is actually Jake Farney. He is a senior and has had some looks from the next level. He was #92 last year.
Peleki played DT last year on defense. JT is a junior. Not sure what he changed his # to...it was 38 last year. JT is a great player with loads of potential but he didn't start all 3 years, just an fyi. Being on varsity and playing as a freshman shows he can only continue to get better. Novato's main problem will be replacing the linebackers and corners that graduated.
