It's official. Eureka will host Ferndale on Oct. 22. Let the hype begin. Good to hear. I apologize for not knowing about 11/12 being Northern Sections playoff week, I was simply trying to find teams with 9 or less games that could possibly use an additional game. As to the size of the schools, isn't Ferndale quite small?

Ferndale is small but they will compete. Should be lots of hype about this one in Eureka.

Yes, lots of excitement in the community about this!! The past couple of years the Times Standard blogs have had several requsts for this game. I think it has been at least 10 years since the two teams have played each other in high school football. There is tremendous respect for the strong Ferndale program.

Sounds like a great contest but I'm not sure about the outcome. I think a lot will be told when Ferndale plays McClymonds.

Wow, I want to believe that Eureka will crush Ferndale (Ferndale being the team that ended my senior campaign). But it's going to be on my mind now bugging me. I understand they're a good team but can Ferndale compete equally with Eureka? This is coming from someone far south of Humboldt County so it's unknown to me how they stack up.
