I mean this is a little out of control.. 75-0?? Are you kidding ME!! Anytime you get to 50 points, that should be more than enough to get your point across... There was a couple surprises to... Montgomery getting beat 28-15 by Windsor and Santa Rosa upended Petaluma 13-0...((Very Slloppy game)) Lots of turnovers.. Each team fumbled the ball near the goal line..

We need to know more details about this blowout....for all we know, Eureka did hold back and it could have been 375-0.
--first off---and this is to Ben---i dislike the idea that the team ahead take a deliberate knee on offensive plays. From the losing team viewpoint, that is more humiliating than just trying to play defense against the winning team and seeing them score again, imo...why bother continue to play the game if the other team is just going to take a knee?
--which brings up---did Piner ever offer to abandon the game? What is the "custom"--I believe it is traditional for the losing team to ask the winning team coach to abandon a game. More important, what are the rules? I do believe the officials have the authority to abandon a game for that reason and others, even if either of the coaches refuse. That is what should have happened I think.
--also, I presume Piner is eager not to be perceieved as a "lesser" school and therefore wants to play only schools of larger size, but come on---hubris is irritating enough for a winning program, but downright dangerous for a losing one. I am certain Piner, with moderate effort, could have scheduled a smaller school--ie Allen is playing Vacaville Christian. Plenty of small town schools or lower-tier small private schools to play, they did not have to drive all the way to powerful Eureka. For gods sake, schedule Upper Lake or someone, forget about which division everyone is in!! Or schedule some of the struggling urban public schools--Richmond, Mission San Jose, the Oakland or SF public schools, there's plenty more. I understand why Eureka scheduled it, they need games against D2 and D3 schools. Piner...they got plenty in league already.
Again, I know nothing but the score. Maybe Eureka was "pouring it on" but I doubt it. This was inveitable the moment this ill-thought game was announced.

Eureka played their first string for the 1st quarter and were ahead 40-0 and the of the quarter. They then proceeded to play the 1st and 2nd string the rest of the game, and I think they only passed one time in the final three quarters. Believe if Eureka wanted to run up the score, they very easily could have been up in the 100+ points range. The Eureka coaching staff is not one to run up scores.

Put this blog to rest. Eureka did not run up the score on us. Our lack of tackling anybody ran up the score on us. Eureka put their second string in at the start of the second quarter and ran the ball inside the tackles for the last three quarters. About 11 or 12 different kids ran the ball for Eureka. Coach Montana is a class act. There is not a story here.

Thanks Gator you see a score like that and think the worst. Ferndale might want to rethink playing Eureka, they could be the state bowl rep.

Eureka could still petition up to NCS Div. II if they want.

I can't see the CN staff walking away from a challenge. Eureka and Newman need to figure out where they are going to play, winner represents NCS state bowl rep.

You obviously didn't see the CN game today. Newman's defense seems to be right where it needs to be, but their offense is not at the state level. Considering its not only opening week, but its also week 0.

Very correct, Miramonte is a damn good 'program'. Cardinal Newman is a good program but last season their 'team' wasnt the best they have had. I've heard (haven't personally seen) that Miramonte is nothing special this season. Keeping in mind Analy isn't know for the best line work or defense and looking at the 21-7 score I draw that Miramonte is only average to above average this season. Considering Analy was down 21-0 and eventually lost 21-7 to an average to above average team I would put Analy to be an average team this season. With the loss of offensive weapons and some of last years offensive and defensive lines I would think Analy is again just average with the potential for an upset over Hburg. Putting that together with Piner who got destroyed by the defending NCS Div II champs I would expect Piner to fix what they have wrong and charge head first into a game against an average Analy team.
