Just as I thought....since CN has P10 next to their name, I guesss they didn't get forced down as initially implied, lol. Someone filled out some paperwork to petition after all, lol.

Cal 14 is a knowledgeable poster. He's been posting on the prep Internet Boards since they started. I've been on these boards since the late 1990's and he is probably 6 months earlier. He was for some reason sensitive to the thought of counting CN for DIII consideration before they petitioned in that they should be considered if and when. I was of the thought that for board discussion purposes they should be considered in DIII given the reasonable knowledge at the time that CN would be petitioning. Cal 14 is a respected poster and does have some influence with CalHiSports and their rankings.
Should be a good game this weekend with CN and Palma. I think I will be taking the drive up to Santa Rosa for the game. I have CN supporters (and player parent) as friends but am a Palma alumni. Not sure which side I will be on, but will try to make the JV game. Palma will be very different this year than last. A much more physical line and smash style offense. CN will know what they are trying to do on offense right away. They will be giving the ball to their one RB and run behind a strong o-line with the QB running it from time to time. On defense, CN will need to throw the ball or they won't be able to get any yards. Best run defense I have seen in years (the d-line is huge -averages over 270-and quick and LBs are very quick- DBs are big and physical), but they are suspect to giving up yardage to a good passing attack (bend but don't break). Speed wise I believe these two teams should match up similar. Should be another close game like the last time up in Santa Rosa-but very different in that they will be a run-oriented offense.

CN passed for more yards against VC than I thought they would have so CN might be able to air it out. CNs pass defense completely shutdown VC's passing game but the running game was able to pick up the slack. Considering the players VC had on offense it was going to happen sooner or later.
This is sure going to be a great game. No idea who will win but I can guess :-)

If you read his post I wouldn't put to much stock in them. He's the same one that said we will know alot about Palma and how they compare to VC based on the score. Basically if Palma loses or doesn't blow out CN then we can mail in VC being the better team. Good to know that the Seahawks are better than the Saints based on the 49er scores, clown!

Him being so knowledgeable is what made his comments even more perplexing..........when i hear people dismiss MC or any traditionally good North Bay team so quickly w/out even knowing much about them (aka Encinal fans on insidebayarea before MC smashed them in the face in the NCS finals) i tend to lose respect for their football knowledge.......when i dont know personally much about a team or league i tend to keep my mouth shut, before i make stupid ignorant comments

I've only been posting for a few years but I remember his attitude when Novato was picked for the bowl game....Everyone still standing was better and Oceanside was going to win by 40 points, lol. The one thing that wasn't "perplexing" is that CN did petition DOWN and MC petitioned up, end of story. DIII NCS will hopefully show it's strength and rep in Carson.
