alright,I'll get the SCL talk going. With most of the teams off to a good start who looks to be the favorite this year? I do not want to offend but Petaluma and Sonoma seem to be putting themselves out of the discussion early. Casa should always be the heavy favorite but this year there could be some other teams that might say "not so fast".

Sonoma has hit tough times and Petaluma had a lot invested in last seasons senior class.
I'll take Analy for fifth in league only because Casa/Windsor/Healdsburg and El Mo are so strong this season.
With Hburg killin it so far I'll take El Mo for fourth unless they can pull an upset over Windsor/Casa or Hburg. I dont think El Mo's defense can handle it.
Third, second, and first will be hard. I'll go with Casa at first look for league champ but after that I really dont know. Hburg or Windsor could end up bumping Casa off or the Gauchos could just dominate. Same could be said about Windsor or Hburg for league champ. Top three is going to be something special.

I totally agree with Ben, I have seen all three of the top teams in action and they are all impressive. Starting with Casa Grande. Nick Sherry is something else, you give him time in the pocket, it is over, he is completing a pass down the field. That's what happened in the game against Carillo. Carillo's pass rush didn't get there late in the game, and Sherry carved them up.
Then you have two more high octain offenses in Healdsburg, and Windsor. Windsor has stumbled a little in the past two weeks but at times has looked very impressive. What I liked when I watched them against Montgomery was the offense had almost no penalties. To come out in week 0 and play mistake free football means you are a well coached team. Then you have Healdsburg, there offense can hit you in so many different ways. They can line up in a power eye and pound it all night long, or they can spread you out and run zone-read options all night long. TK has done a great job coming up with an offense that suits what he has. TK doesn't have all that much size, but what he does have is speed, pure speed. You know what they say, you can't coach fast.

This is an encouraging season for SCL, with El Mo, Analy and H'burg all exceeding (at least my!) expectations. But Casa still the favorite--I don't see them losing two league games and getting dethroned. H'burg and Windsor with best chance to be co-champs.
Petaluma's drop is extraordinary, but it does happen. Was the Petaluma JV devastatingly poor last year, so there was nothing at all to replenish the Trojans?

Dethroned? From what? I agree scobserver, Casa looks like the favorite this year. Petaluma though, will be dethroned after dominating the league last year(including Casa 40-14!)

Yes, primetime, I stand very much corrected!! Just so use to Casa dominating this last decade or so....

New coach and 0 returning starters for Petaluma leads to a poor year for the trojans. Krist will be a fine coach, but the reality is that in high school football the team with the best athletes USUALLY wins. Petaluma will bounce back. JV is currently 4-1. Look for significant improvement next year
