22-14 final San Marin.
Although this game shouldn't have been this close and Novato helped with int's/fumbles, the Refs gave the game to SM on a silver platter in the 4th qtr. Novato gets a 15yard personal foul for spiking the ball after getting a 1st down but nothing for SM as 5-6 guys start charging the field during play with 3 minutes left in the game. Just one example of many calls against Novato. Ball never spotted close enough for a 1st down. Blah, Blah, Blah. Good luck to Novato next year!

Hard to believe San Marin beating Novato. Times have changed at least for this year.

Unfortunately I missed the city game, usually one of the games I always try to make, sounds like a good game for SM. I did have friends who went and they told me there has been alot of negative rumblings about Brackett this year.
Holy shit! Look at there schedule? Guy coached you to a SBG (almost 2), has pretty much run the league for the past decade has played anyone....and now he is not a good coach and it's time for a change!
If you have a good coach enjoy it. Times have changed. The days of the Franci's, Ellison's and 30 + year coaches are over. About 10 years it what I'd expect then guys will be burned out and get out...and I can't say I blame them.

You're right Bella. Parents are absolutely out of their minds now. It's funny how most parents only think there is a problem when it concerns their own kid, but if their kid is good there is no problem with the coach. When a Coach is winning the parents complaints have no echo. However, when a Coach is not, the unhappy parent is a serious problem that spreads like wildfire. We should try to remember that W's is not the only thing we should want our Coaches to be about. Especially since these kids from the complaining parents 9 times out of 10 need guidance about life from the Coach, because their parents are a bad example!

I was reading the comments left on the Marin Ij wensite. Parents are pissed about something. Not sure what but wow Bracket is taking the brunt of most of the problems. Hes a hell of a coach, hes arrogant but a good coach. I also saw the Pdpreps website someone beating up on Tomlin. Parents more then likely but wow, its harsh. Its no wonder coaches are quick to hang it up. Not an easy job. Then there is the Redwood San Rafael fight..... Ugly yeah that fight was ugly from what it sounds like........surprised it was able to spiral out of control like that, hopefully that never happens again

I neglected to give props to SM....good job. Bracket is only partially to blame for the problems on the team. He is trying to do to much with a ragtag group of kids who just think that by playing for Novato they will win. When they lose they don't take it well and can't shake it off. Lack of family support for alot of the kids doesn't help and the parents that blame Bracket if their kid doesn't play makes it worse. The staff will right the ship but don't expect much change til next year. But, if the current staff doesn't step up and say something don't expect any change at all.

Yea and even pulled up a 15yo freshman who is playing and playing well, lol. That is part of the problem, lack of experience but there are some issues "in the locker room" and lack of discipline with no one stepping up to say anything, including Bracket. Hopefully there will be adjustments with the summer program, basically getting back to what worked instead of trying new training techniques that don't suit adolescent football players, lol. Go back to the article and read one of the last comments from a post by nhs58....I know that kid and he has hit the nail on the head. Mix in lack of coaching leadership and it is a recipe for disaster. If it doesn't change, next year won't be any different.

football415 - You need to get your facts straight. There was a 15 yard flag for that play. That why they missed the PAT

The play that I was referring to was not on a touchdown drive....what play are you referring to? I also found out the flag was for Bracket being on the field and the ref running into him, not the spike. But the play was still miles away from the endzone.
