I assume it's because they played 9-man all this season but I would think a 7-2 record would at least interest them in applying for the playoffs. Anyone know if it was an NCS decision that told them no, or if it was the school?

9 Man Football isnt eligible for NCS Play-offs. Tomales and Calistoga qualified because they played some 11 man games.

Ugg, thats too bad, Ive be willing to bet the 7-2 Anderson Valley team could beat 1-9 Upper Lake. Wont have this problem next year with the NCL II and 8-man ball.

AV wanted to play eleven this year, would have only had to compete against tomales and calistoga with eleven to be eligible for playoffs, but the powers that be said no. Also, one of those losses was due to the fact that AVs QB (who has averaged nearly 400 offensive yards a game) did not play in the mid season game against Pt. Arena, and he also missed about a half in the loss to Tomales after tweaking his knee. The community is pretty upset over the decision.

I would be too, Anderson Valley would still have finished 7-2 after playing 11-man agaisnt Tomales and Calistoga. That could give them the number 4 seed and a home game against St. Bernard's.

The folks in Boonville must be heated, seeing a 1-9 Upper Lake team in over them and you can safely assume that regardless of overall record the Cougars will keep this as a feather in their cap. Hopefully the rearranged NCL, though with it's extremely tough league 1, has an upside for the smaller teams in the conference liek AV.
