Is anyone giving thought to how the Mendocino girls basketball tee shirt protests can affect football or all other school activities?
So Mendo High administrators are dandy if their b ball players wear protest tee shirts pre game warm ups. I guess visiting teams are welcome to wear any protest tee shirts of their choice at Mendo Hi as well...I am sure "Abortion is Murder" would be appreciated and deemed not disruptive by the residents there.
Or must a student be allowed to wear a protest tee shirt during basketball queen ceremonies, while everyone else is dressed up?
Must a drama member be allowed to stand on stage in a protest tee shirt before a school performance, and then slip back into costume just as the play starts?
Guess this fall, football players can wear anything they want during warm ups; Mendo High officials say it's fine.
Also, is anyone else concerned about the Mendo High boys basketball coach, who was told he could not tell his players to wear only school issued clothes during warm up, and subsequently did not coach the next game? He is the only person who has acted with integrity through the thing.
Anyone the least bit concerned about all this?

I am concerned this is just the start of it unfortunately unless stopped right away. I believe that all Uniforms (Military, peace officers, all levels of sports, costumes in a play, etc...) are a symbolization of spirit and honor. Disrespecting the uniform should not be tolerated. Freedom of speech is important when used properly and disrespecting uniforms and events is not right. The administrators need to come to the realization that it is ok to tell someone something they may not want to hear and support the coach in requiring his team to wear the "proper uniform" issued by the school they are representing.
