Bill Callahan did a real good job with the west coast offense at Nebraska (why he is looking for a job)...........Look at it this way though..at least they are not trying to run the "pistol"!!! What happened to our power house offense at Monty?

This is to newmanfan, am I to believe that you are not related to Matt Hunn??? I really do like the kid and his desire and even his work ethic, but as far as a D 1 prospect that is really a stretch. I have been around Matt since his freshman year and love his desire but he doesn't have all the tools at this time to be a top flight QB. I hope I am wrong

Matt and me related? No. If I were related he'd be at Newman . He's a sophmore and is taller than the starting QB for varsity -Allen and Matt can toss the pigskin a mile. With proper coaching and training this kid can develop into great QB. With some time in the pocket he could do some damage. Maybe blend Matt Hunn and Max Pond =D-1 full ride

Ranchofan, what do you mean by tools? I completely agree with you though. Right now he needs speed and confidence in the pocket, but what else. He is 6'5'' and has a great arm.
Newmanfan, personally, I think Dworkin should get the majority of the snaps. But, Conroy could put in Orduna to change the tempo of the game from speed to power running.

When Dworkin gets the ball is not up to Conroy but up to the Q.B. With the veer the Q.B has to read many different players on the defense to determin who gets the ball. But rest assured Dworkin will get the ball as often as possible

Dworkin should do well and I'd like to see Orduna get the ball too. He has the potential just needs the opportunity. He has speed and ability. Great athlete. Does a good job on defense too! I wish Hunn all the best, but don't see him being a top quarterback for RC. I've seen him at QB and while he may have the desire, that's not enough. Good luck to him though.

I have read some of these comments about myself, and I do agree with all the critisizm I have been receiving. I know I did not have a spectacular year last year. I had some good moments but I also made mistakes due to being nervous behind my small line and my lack of experiance as a veer QB. Believe me when I say this though. I WILL improve, I WILL work as hard as I possibly can so that I can stop all this critisizm. I KNOW I am a good QB, and I will continue took work harder than anyone else on the field with me. I WILL get faster, and I WILL be in the best shape of my life. I have all the tools now I just need to hone them and grow with experiance.

Hey Matt,
Welcome to the world of being a QB. Everyone has something to say about what you do and it's often harsh. God forbid you should ever hear what parents and fans say about you (not you specifically but all QB's) in the stands. But you sound like you have a thick skin and the right attitude. Just use those nerves for good and don't worry about what people have to say about you. You'll have great games and games where you just can't find it. All that matters is the next play. You're always one play away from greatness. P.S. So sorry about the veer...do the best you can with it.

Hi Matt,
Keep up that motivation and never lose it! I only wish some of the troops in my squadron would take Physical Training that seriously. Play your game and never stop working.

Criticism? There are people saying you could be a D-1 player!!! How is that criticism? Just by responding to this little criticism on this board you are showing those that don't matter it is getting to you. Don't show that weakness. Thats the first thing you need to do to be mentally tough. Don't sweat the small stuff. Parih is right! Playing QB is tough and everyone is gonna have an opinion about your play...good and bad. Its part of the territory and if you are gonna fight every single person who offers and opinion....you are not placing your energy into what matters.....playing the position. Good luck!!!!

Thank you, all 3 of you. Earlier people were saying I didn't have the tools. That is what I took as critisizm.

Everyone will have an opinion ...Be confident in your skills . Go out there with SWAGGER. Some people said I was to short for middle linebacker and fullback it kinda pissed me off and I used that to motivate me .=Starting LB/RB 3A ball 2yrs varsity. Play hard and have fun . PS. If you go to Notre Dame get me some tickets when they play Stanford.
