This season I will be introducing league rankings on top of Division Rankings. I will also have true Sonoma County rankings (+ Ukiah). For something else new, I'll also have NCSNBL Rankings, that rank all teams covered by the site.
After watching a few teams at spring ball, and talking to coaches to find out whos got what, its camp time. After whats been going on at camp, its time to gather info from our fans.
I already have a general ranking of teams in the SoCo and NCSNBL Rankings, but they leave room to move teams up and down.
So... let see some pre-season rankings. League, SoCo, NCSNBL, whatever you think and why! ;D

1. Casa Grande- #2 RB in Keys-#2 QB in Sherry-#1 WR in Waggoner- #1 coaching staff with Herzog!!! 2. Windsor- #1 RB in Erion-#1 athlete in King-Fayter potentially holds this team back as average coach 3. Piner-#1 QB in Stiles-#3 RB in Young-#2 lineman in Serrano. New coach needs experience which could hurt them. 4. Montgomery-#1 lineman in Lucchetti-#1 line coach in Frank S.- they would be my #2 team behind Casa but their strength is size and power yet they are running the spread. This team needs to pound it down other teams throats!!! 5. Cardinal Newman-#2 coaching staff-#1 defensive player in Jack James. Just not enough skilled position players this year. 6. Maria Carrillo-Atoe-Atoe-Atoe-Atoe-Atoe-and Atoe!!! Guy is great all around football player but when is Carrillo coaching staff going to advance from the Wing T. 7. Petaluma-#1 open field back in Sullivan- #1 fullback/linebacker in Sims. Out dated coaching will hold them back. Great fullback teams like this one lead by Sims should be running the option. 8. Ranch Cotati- the veer needs to evolve to 2009!!! 9. Santa Rosa- I expect Keefer to turn this around. Great coach 10. Analy- #1 all around WR core could lift this team in 09!!!

Nice Mustang, really like your info about each team. I can only hope Piner would be a number 3 team, but after the trouble their program has been through, I dont know if they can reach that far.

I would be really surprised to see Piner finish in the top three, and if Healdsburg doesn't finish better than both SR and Analy. This is a fun idea, the prob with fan input is that we're all a bunch of homers, and some louder than others!
I would go something like.. Casa Newman (hey until someone beats them...) Monty Windsor RC Petaluma Carillo Hburg Piner Analy SR

Please, people...Newman obviously number one, merely re-loading. Only Casa could give them a game. CN will be ahead at least 3 TDs by the half against all their NBL "rivals" except Monty. More likely, ahead by 5 TDs at half against the remaining six. (it would be even worse against most SCL teams, so it's not a homer statement!)
1. Newman 2. Casa Grande 3. Monty 4. Windsor 5. Rancho 6. Petaluma 7. Maria Carillo 8. Healdsburg 9. Santa Rosa 10. Ukiah 11. Analy 12. Piner 13. Sonoma Valley 14. El Molino 15. Elsie Allen

Bad thing about having Monty and Newman at the top of the rankings, is they play two tough programs to begin with. Monty takes on Grant, and Newman plays Central Catholic. There's a real chance the Redwood Empire could go 0-2 based on these two contests. Even though the tough programs they are playing, its hard to say how far they would drop.

Maria Carrillo: I only know one player on Carrillo-Atoe. Alot of people think they are going to be good this year. Nobody has talked about players are reasons they are going to be good. What is the justification for their ranking? I am not saying they wont be good I just haven't heard much about them. I look at the coaching records and see that their coach is 8 games under 500 entering his 9th season. Somebody educate me about this program.

Here are my picks #1 Windsor- Remember Fayter turned this school around and will be the coach of year #2 Casa- Hezog wins COY if they can defeat Windsor but tough task with Erion and King and strong line on both sides of the ball against him. #3 Newman- Coaching can make average good #4 Petaluma- Talent at key positions but in a tough league #5 Monty- will give newman a run this year #6 Carrillo- Same as Petaluma good team but not up to the top teams For all the below rebuilding is key. #7 Rancho- #8 Piner #9 Healdsburg #10 Ukiah #11 Analy #12 Santa Rosa #13 Sonoma #14 ElMO #15 Elsie Allen

Towards the top I have to have Newman, even though they could go 0-3 in the non-leauge. Casa is really emerging over the summer as a great team with all the offensive weapons they have. Monty is also up there, just so many good things happening with Franci's program right now.
Rancho has got to have fallen a little, somewhere around the same level as Carrillo. Healdsburg and Piner would be close to that level as well.
Petaluma and Windsor are a big problem though. Pre-season rankings should only reflect a bit of last seasons team, as it should be reflective of this seasons future, not last seasons record. No one can question that both teams and both senior classes are bursting with talent, but I dont know where to put them. My first thought would be about the previously stated Rancho, Carrillo, etc. But its hard to place both programs above teams that did well last season and are expect to do well this season.
Ukiah is screwed, plain and simple, they lost a lot of talent and Schuller has a lot of work ahead of him. Ukiah will be back up there beginning with next season, but as of now, they are a huge underdog in all rankings.
