How much faith does everyone have in a team like newman or windsor, but teams are coming out this year with solid teams.. with speed and size.. DII should be filled with great teams..

Div. II is going to be packed.
12 teams total, so lets just say 6 will be from the Redwood Empire. 1) Newman 2) Monty 3) Eureka as MCAL Champ 4) SCL Champ (Casa, Windsor, or Petaluma)
So with four spots already taken up, the SCL 2nd and 3rd team will not have an easy going time.
5) SCL second place (Casa, Windsor, or Petaluma)
The Number six team will be tough: 6) Redwood 6) Piner 6) Maria Carrillo 6) SCL third team (Casa, Petaluma or Windsor)
Thats basically at least four teams looking at one spot! The other six spots should go to East Bay teams, which out number Redwood Empire teams I might add. 1) Clayton Valley (really weak non-league schedule) 2) Concord (fairly weak non-leauge schedule) 3) Las Lomas (.500 for them is better than 6-4 for others with SOS) 4) Hayward (6-4 last season and felt they got the shaft by being left out) 5) Pinole Valley (6-3 last season, just as mad as Hayward) 6) Ygnacio Valley 7) Tennyson (5-5 or 4-6 team) 8) Mt Diablo (same as Tennyson)
So with 8 EB teams in the mix right away, there should be a suprise team as well. Its going to be tough for the three SCL teams everyones been talking about.
Basically, Windsor, Casa, or Petaluma could be left out...

I know this site is mainly all about the NBL/SCL/MCAL, but let me be the first one to say that some of the "small" schoools in this area should get some props too. I had an opportunity to go out and watch the jamboree at the Tomales camp last sunday, and i'll say; something very good is brewing in Tomales. They are very big up front and the two horses they have at running backs are as physical as anybody, and fairly fast too. I saw them destroy piner, did very well against Analy and San Marin. They looked very very good.I predict they dont lose a game all year. Just thought i would give the "small" school Kids some much warranted props.

Its nice to see some recognition for the small schools but there arent many in this area. Tomales, St. Vincent and Cloverdale. I do believe there is some good football in Lake County and that area. Has anyone seen the YouTube film on Jake Cimino(sp?) from Ft. Bragg? This kid looks GOOD!
Tomales is ALWAYS Big up front with horses running the ball! But they can never seem to beat the big teams. Wing T is great against all the small schools but when you play the larger schools they shut it down. Im sure they looked fine in June when Piner and Analy hasnt prepared for it. I see them doing well in the NCL II but still losing to St. Vincent and St. Elizabeth during the season and in the play-offs. Still, they do a great job every year with the limited amount of kids they have.
Props to all the small schools for doing well with limited athletes and resources!!

Dynomite. Tomales doesn't run wing-t. They run the double wing. A more evolved version of what Ponce ran at Santa Rosa and Fayter ran at Windsor a couple years back. Different offense.

My apologies. You are correct, they dont widen anyone out. Same concept though. Lot of pulling and misdirection. Thank Jbytes you would know.

Wasn't trying to list seeds, just general teams that could make playoffs.

I still say that piner should have a up year.. have a solid senior class.. but look for carrillo to improve throughout the season.. they have the size.. then there is monty..

SRHS passing league last night. Newman destroyed Elsie. Monty and Piner each scored a couple of touchdowns against each other. Then Monty destroyed Elsie while Newman and Piner each scored a couple of touchdowns against each other. Then Piner destroyed Elsie while Newman outplayed Monty by a couple of scores. Monty was talking trash the entire night to every team and everyone that would listen. Fun night to watch. Tall WR for Newman (dont know his name) looked great last night.

The tall wide reciever is Chris Rueter. Yea Monty is a bunch of renagade punks. I can't believe Franci and Scalercio are allowing this. That's what you get when you leave Merideth and Bautista to run the show. And believe me I'm not the only coach who thinks this. Every coach I have talked to says that they are a bunch of Thugs!

Wow, you really just said that? Uh, ok. that really just happened? Thank you insidezone for proving the point I have been making for years. True colors. I can only imagine the response if that was said about CN. This board would be lit on fire with Newman people saying "sour grapes" and all the other wonderful things about themselves and how everyone else should live up to that. renegade punks? Thugs? Attacking other area coaches like Bautista and Meredith? And you are a coach for newman? I really don't know what to say.

How tall is Rueter, he was under 6 ft last season. His brother was of course a standout in several sports at Newman in 1999-2001. Think he was about 6'4"?
