I'm a little bored today on this rainy Tuesday afternoon, so I thought I'd post my mid-season all sonoma county team. But first a few comments:
1. This is only a partial list. As much as I would like to think of myself as a student of the game, I'm much more a fan. Meaning, I don't study much individual battles in the trenches. I see bodies flying and if there's a hole for a RB, I assume the offensive line as a group is doing their thing. If not, I assume the defensive line as a group has the advantage. Therefore, I'm not listing any offensive or defensive linemen.
2. I haven't seen all the teams play. As much as I want to see Healdsburg and Montgomery, I just haven't been able to make any of their games yet. And sometimes when I did see a team, they simply had a bad night (Rancho Cotate and Cardinal Newman being good examples) so my perspective may be limited and inaccurate.
3. I'm hardly an expert so please don't take anything I write too seriously. And really, this is the most important point. As I said, I'm a little bored and looking for some interesting discussion.
QB - Currently a tie between Nick Sherry of Casa Grande and Jake Zanutto of Analy. But I think this is truly a position where the sample size needs to be bigger. By the end of the season hopefully we'll know more and may even include El Molino's Mike Pierson.
RB - Sean Sullivan of Petaluma. Hard to argue with his numbers through 6 games as he's racked up almost 900 yards.
WR - Chris Bostock and Ryan Baretta of Analy. With apologies to Aaron Dhuyvetter of Ukian, who I simply haven't seen.
LB - Blake Olsen of Petaluma, Sam Atoe of Maria Carillo, Jordan Winkler of Windsor, and Ethan Rosselli of Santa Rosa.
DB - D.J. King of Windsor, Dalton Johnson of Petaluma, and Bo Swift of Analy.
Feel free to add your own or dispute any of mine.
