I do not want to sound rude or mean when I say this but how could Keys be MVP when he may not even run for 1000 yards. Sullivan's numbers are twice as good. Sims has shined both ways as well as DJ. Those are my top 3 and I think its really between Sullivan and Sims. I don't care if he doesn't play defense Sullivan does things with the ball in his hands that nobody else can do or will do for a long time. SCL is loaded with talent this year

You are right about Sean Sullivan tjm378, he is a special player, he is a legit choice for league MVP, he has had some impressive runs. Coolest momment on GOTW this year Sullivans 72 yard TD run in the 4th quarter agianst Casa Grande, that just tore the house down, it was crazy. where would that team be on offense without Sullivan? But you could also spin that the other way and say where would Petaluma be without Sims? Do I think Sullivan is MVP, honestly i'm not sure, DJ King would be another good choice

I said before the season Sullivan was the best back in the SCL and he's proven that as I don't think there's any question he'll win that award. But as I originally said in this thread, I think it's a two person race between him and King. And I was leaning and am still leaning towards King, but it's partly due to my attempting to not be biased as I'm a huge Sullivan fan. And based on tjm's post, he makes a solid argument for Sullivan. So my heart says Sean, but my head is torn between him and D.J.
And for the record, it's truly a shame we didn't get to see what Cameron Erion could have done. No doubt he would have been part of this discussion.

My point was that the people that decide who is awarded the SCL Player of the Year (which equates to the League MVP)... will not choose a kid that is not a two way starter. I do not recall if that is an official rule or just an understood practice amongst the voting members. I would actually love to see King and Sims recognized as Co-POY's. I think Keys is a definate candidate for Back of the Year, but not "MVP" For whatever it's worth...

Hounds fan, I like the idea of having CO-MVPs. As I read these posts it seems that there is no run away favorite for the award. So If it was my decision, the CO-MVPs would be DJ King, and Sean Sullivan. Even thought Sullivan is not a two way guy I just think Sullivan is the guy that makes Petaluma's offense one of the beat in the empire. But give credit to Petaluma's O-line this year too. That's what people were worried about at the beginning of the year, but the O-line steped it up big time.

When i think of MVP i think of a team who can't do with out. Case and point last night with Windsor and with out D.J King. Can petaluma win with out Simms ....? or with out Sullivan that is the question i'm sure they could. It shows you last night the Windsor can't on both sides of the ball that is what i think about when it comes to MVP!

But, if Simms played for windsor they could not win with out him, if that is all they had. Simms is the MVP hand down.

Sims SCL MVP hands down, Sullivan back of the year. King is a good player but he missed 2 games in the SCL Sonoma and Analy. He had 2 big games in SCL play El Molino and Healdsburg. VS the 2 top SCL teams Casa and Petaluma he did very little. Sims is hands down SCL MVP. I doubt king will even be 1st team SCL QB with Sherry, Russell and Pierson to compete against.

YES Russell is a better QB than King 10-0 proves that!! With the Option Offence Russell is running it is his read that determines who gets the ball. Apparently he is making great reads. Petaluma has two of the best Running Backs in the SCL yards gained and yards per carry. In the last two games Sims has been the main ball carrier due to Russell's reads. At any time Russell could pull the ball and run! He has proven to be a very unselfish QB. Russell is a true QB not a running back/QB or throwing QB that can not run Russell can do both! He is running the Offence with Confidence. Russell is a TEAM PLAYER he plays to win 10-0 SCL CHAMPS!! That is an all league QB!! MVP of the year probably not!! Great QB YES! What happened to King in the petaluma game? Enough said!! GO PHS !!!!
