So hard to pick just one...
Ill have to take Kahlil Keys, he does a great job on the field, and has a great chance to play on the next level.

To me, how someone projects to play at the next level shouldn't be considered. We're talking about what they've done this year in the SCL. Based on that, I'm torn between Sullivan and King, with a slight nod towards King considering he plays both ways. But so much of Petaluma's success is because of Sullivan. Even when he's not getting the ball, he opens things up for Sims and Russell because the defenses are so keyed on him. And you can say the same thing about Dalton Johnson. I believe on all of Johnson's TD catches, there hasn't been a safety in sight as they were caught cheating on the run.
But next week's game could go a long way in making the choice. Actually, the next two weeks will.
Oh, and C-Wag has come up huge for Casa Grande the last two games. Great call including him into this poll.

The thing that pops out to me about Sullivan is yards per carry. Just under 11 yards a crry. Thats unheard of. And you are correct everyone keys on him, which helps the Trojans out tremendously. Last night was example A with Sims 4 touchdowns

They are all great players but if petaluma goes 10-0 it would have to go to a petaluma player Sullivan great runner, Sims hard noes runner and remember without Russell running that offence the way he does nobody has those big games in the triple option its Russell's read that determines who gets the ball and when . great offensive leadership this year Russell is probably the most underrated player this year in SCL. If they loss a game then its up in the air but i would say Sullivan then because of yards per Carrie. Every player on the board is worthy of the honor.

Im a sonoma fan so i dont care but i liked the way Johnson played us tough and fast. He just stood out to me. If they had a defensive player of the year he would get my vote. but then again im 65 years old and my vission is going.

I would take King. Lost his star RB and put his team on his back and does it on both sides of the ball.

I like King and would probably say a slight edge to him. If they stick by the un-written rule that the league champ produces the MVP. Assuming that is Petaluma, then I'd say Sims gets it. Sullivan is great, but when I've watched Petaluma, I've seen Sims do more overall for his team (offense and defense). Yes Sullivan does open the inside up for Sims, but if there is no credible inside threat from the FB in the triple option then it is much easier for the defense to key on the QB and the pitch man (Sullivan).
It used to be whenever there were a couple of players to choose from they would just make up more awards (ie. "SCL MVP", "Back of the Year" or "Offensive Player of the Year" etc.).
I also don't know why a players potential at the next level would matter for MVP of his high school league.

Just a question! Would DJ king be a starting QB or RB, or "THE" go to guy on either Petaluma's or Casa's teams. What do you think? And maybe we should wait to answer the question after Friday nights contest.

Any players hit the 1000 yard mark yet? We're 7 or 8 games into the season. There's gotta be a few by now.

Sullivan (Petaluma) 105 Car., 1143 yds, 10.89 per Car., 10 TD's. What else is there to say?
