I actually got a chuckle out of that one. Very true!! Next time he runs 80 - 90 yards for a TD, somebody should start the timer. Happy Friday everyone!

Mustang, you make me smile. Sullivan reminds me of Barry Sims when he runs.

SO WHEN THEY RUN THE 40 @ THE COMBINE THEY ARE WEARING PADS AND CARRYING A FOOTBALL? I AM NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW TRACK SPEED DOESN'T TRANSLATE TO FOOTBALL SPEED. SULLIVAN SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN TALKED UP TO BE SO FAST BUT NOW I HEAR" IT'S JUST HIS 1ST YEAR IN TRACK "OR "HE ISN'T ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD". "FOUNTAIN HAS BEEN RUNNING TRACK SINCE JUNIOR HIGH" IF SULLIVAN WOULD HAVE BEATEN FOUNTAIN AND KOZEL WE PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE HEARD THE END OF IT. I THINK ALL THREE OF THESE GENTLEMAN ARE QUICK. TO SAY TRACK SPEED DOESN'T MATTER I DISAGREE. LOOK @ JAHVID BEST HE WON STATE IN TRACK AND IS NOW DOING PRETTY WELL @ CAL IN FOOTBALL. I THINK SULLIVAN IS A GOOD BACK BUT TO COMPARE HIM TO BARRY SIMS!! COME ON THAT GUY WAS AWESOME. WHEN SULLIVAN GOES PRO AND PUTS UP THOSE KIND OF NUMBERS THEN YOU CAN SAY HE REMINDS YOU OF SIMS. ALSO, UNTIL CASA GETS BEAT IT IS THEIR DIVISION TO LOSE...PERIOD.

ZORN, NO NEED TO SHOUT! - I am afraid I am not being understood. He is not Barry Sims. But the way Sean hits a hole without hesitation and can change direction is amazing and reminds me of Barry. Sean is only a high school kid, but who knows how he will do in the future. I don't know if you have seen Sean's UTube video, but is is extraordinary and fun to watch. The way he cuts back, sees the field and opportunities when the rest of us don't, and keeps his legs moving. Check it out at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjB_LZulRboI feel a great football player can run track, but can a great track runner play football? Can they take a hit, can they give a hit and can they know how to create opportunities? Does track test these things?

SORRY...NOT SHOUTING. I JUST HAVE COMPUTER SET @ CAPS LOCK. I SEE YOUR POINT ABOUT CAN AN ATHLETE PLAY FOOTBALL THAT JUST RUNS TRACK. SEANS VIDEO IS IMPRESSIVE AND I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEAN. I GUES A GOOD EXAMPLE OF A TRACK STAR THAT CAN'T PLAY FOOTBALL WOULD BE RENALDO NEHEMIAH.

I don't care about who is better. We are talking about a couple tenths at 100 M. Track speed is one thing and it helps make you look good and quantify your talents in combines, but football speed is everything. I happened to see Sullivan's scouting video today. I have never seen him play and I take all the hype I've heard on this board with a grain of salt. But I will tell you one thing: Sullivan is very, very good. And it is because he has football speed, great awareness and instincts. He hits (the correct) holes at full speed and he goes 100% from hand off to tackle. That's football speed. No hesitation to find a seam. He's fluid and his legs keep moving. Not like a lot of backs who hesitate and look for openings at the line and/or hold up at the second level looking around for space. He's very fluid and sees well. Fun to watch. Defenses: Don't get lax. Casa had the line of scrimmage controlled in the egg bowl last year, but it only takes one lax moment and that snake will bite. Very small though.

i agree, track for sullivan, keys, and all these primary football players is not their main focus. Their focus is increasing speed going into the football season in order to maximize their performance. To stress upon times and who beat who is simply unnecessary because these athletes are simply competing with themselves and are not in search of comparison to athletes whos main emphasis is track.

WHERE IS THERE STRESS ON TIMES AND WHO BEAT WHO? ALSO WHAT ATHLETES MAIN FOCUS WAS ON TRACK. ALL OF THESE KIDS PLAY FOOTBALL AND TRACK. IF YOU READ THE POSTS YOU MIGHT UNDERSTAND THAT. MY ARGUMENT WAS THAT TRACK SPEED DOES TRANSLATE TO FOOTBALL SPEED. NOW YOU ARE STATING THAT THESE PLAYERS ARE RUNNING TRACK TO MAXIMIZE THEIR SPEED. ALSO WHAT WAS STATED IS, ALL OF THESE KIDS ARE QUICK. I DON'T CARE WHO WON THE RACE. I HAPPENED TO BE @ THE RACE AND I POSTED THE RESULTS AND GAVE MY OPINION.

We lost WR Ryan Ortiz from Monty today. He transferred to Piner. He is a big athletic WR. Our loss, their gain.

Doesn't Ortiz have to sit out a year now?
