What do Novato and San Rafael look like this year? What type of systems do they run? I heard Novato has a really good coach.

San Rafael is in trouble this season. I wouldnt put them above two wins, they program has been controlled by the parents for way too long. It wouldnt be this way if Mazi was still there.

WOW. Piner is very big up front. They manhandled some teams last night. It will be interesting to see them against Monty and Novato tonight. Ben, you were right, San Rafael is BAD.

Piner should do well, Herman Serrano is going to have a good season, and John Rickard will be the best TE in the Empire. Jabari Young should do well too, with the size upfront anyway. One thing that could hurt in the long run is grades. Piner isnt known for having the best GPA team wise. Support on the schooling subject has been lacking in the past, so if theres any challenge, it will be coach Tomlin keeping his athletes focused in the classroom.

Novato wasn't there Wed but they definitely showed up tonite...other than the butterflies at the beginning, it looked like their defense held their own. Offense needs some work but they went toe to toe with Monty and had the upper hand against Piner. The run should be a big part of Novato's scheme come September. Thoughts??

The teams at the monty camp looked pretty good to me.. novato looks like they are in week 1.. and monty looks big up front... that little shoving by brumfield from montgomery against drake was probably the highlight of the night.. kinda makes u think if monty is really that under control or if something was said on the field.. anyways san rafael's qb looked good last night.. and piner and analy were about even.. rumor has it that piner may lose some players to grades kinda sad since this year was supposed to be the year of rebuliding..

Piner has lost players due to injury as well, John Rickard got hit Wednesday and will be taking it easy for a little bit. He'll be back in time for Analy I think.
Montgomery looked very average. Novato did more than stand toe to toe with them, Monty couldnt do anything and Novato scored all day long. A few Monty players did make some very nice players and really made themselves heard. I really dont know what to call it, but they also looked undisplined, they were hooting and yelling after every good play they made, hitting late, then the thing with Drake didnt help.
Drake looked ok too, they did well in the passing, lots of tall receivers. Drake had to be the tallest team out there. San Rafael was by far the smallest team out there, but those kids were strong. Amil Hall has them working a lot and it shows. Their QB is something out of this world. Size is going to kill them but they should be a little better than last season.
