Okay, so here is the way I see it...I really do think that Monty can give Eureka a good game, and I hope so just so it is a tense exciting game to watch, because they are the most fun kind of games to watch. I hope I'm right and I hope Monty wins. If I am wrong and Eureka hands it to them and Vainuku runs for 500 yards and 11 touchdowns, then I'm fine with that too, because then we will have been treated to the experience of having watched a great talent up close and in person. It should be fun either way!

Nobody roots for a blowout, we just think that it will be one, and that your reasoning is influenced by your hope for a classic championship game that they can make into a movie someday.

Well, there is a contingent of we's that thinks otherwise...guess we'll find out soon enough. As for the movie, I'll play myself, in a cameo role.

Remember, both teams lost twice this season. Monty to state champ Grant and SCL champ Casa. Eureka lost to Mt. Shasta and PV in Chico. Major difference in opponents. Eureka also has six victories from schools half their size! Monty's O had a disaster against Grant. Three starting linemen missed the game and the O turned it over three times deep in Monty territory. The Monty D played over 115 plays, equal to two games worth of snaps and they gave up 4 tds. The O gave up 2. Using math, the Viking D played the equlivant of two games against Grant and allowed two scores each "game". Who knows what Eureka could have done against such an elite opponent? Especially with the distraction of 2 stabbings and 6 gang fights in the stands. The helicopter and 60 cops were quite relaxing also for Monty.....

.......Continued....Eureka and Montgomery's HIGH SCHOOL players will decide the game. Both have been in "pads" for over 4 months. The Vikings has a bye early on...their season has lasted for 15 weeks. Either way, this is the end of the season for both teams. How cool for them both, as they are the best Hwy. 101 has to offer from S.F. to the Oregon border! (because Monty also beat the San Francisco's Lincoln High)

Boy bvvike, your information seems to be be severely wrong. First and foremost, the SCL champ was Petaluma, who smoked Casa 40-14 in the Egg Bowl. Next, Are you even familiar with those two teams, Pleasant Valley and Shasta? Pleasant Valley this year was strong, and Shasta typically has a good program. I think PV might have sent Casa home running if they played. and " six victories from schools half their size" The forum has already gone over this. They proved themselves against Petaluma last week in that blowout win. They now have captured the attention of the Bay Area. With that showing against the undoubted #1 team out of NBL and SCL, it would be crazy to say that they are not proven.

Is the glass half empty, or half full? It is true that Eureka cleaned up on schools 1/2 their size (those in their league) and the others against schools that are equivalent in enrollment...it's a half truth, but still a truty, and may be a meaningless stat, in the end.
I would agree; Eureka has proven themselves...still does not mean they will make Monty roll over and play dead.

Actually poohbear, MY facts are right....Grant WAS the defending state champ AND Casa WAS the defending SCL champ......If anyone tries to compare Shasta or PV to Grant or Casa's, they would be not dealing in facts.

Since we are using facts, here are some others....Shasta and PV lost 8 games between them....During the regular season, Grant and Casa had a combined loss total of .........1.........after numerous playoff games a total of .....3.....Go Vikes Go!

Your facts don't make up for the fact that Montgomery has not beaten a team as good as Petaluma, Eureka has. Petaluma is a MUCH better team than anyone Montgomery has beaten. Your statements about Monty playing with Grant are just bogus because Grant killed them, and would have been trying a lot harder to score if the game was close. Good stats in a blowout loss mean only one thing, a blowout loss.

Tonytiger, were you at the Grant game? Obviously not, because had you been, you would have noticed that they were running up the score very late into the 4th quarter. Their starters didn't leave the field until the last two minutes. They continued to throw deep down field until the very end. And, their top running back never left the game.....they were laying the groundwork for this year's run at the state title. After the game, the comments from Grant were to go win our league so it would improve their rankings. Monty went to subs in the 4th quarter, if you were wondering......I know, I am confusing facts with "pretend facts" Yes, Grant did win 26 in a row, before they missed a short field goal to end their streak last week.

Hey Tiger,
Let's take a look at the pre-season schedule for Petaluma and Montgomery.
Petaluma played Santa Rosa (2-8), Maria Carrillo (4 - 7) & Ukiah (3 - 7).
Montgomery played Grant (13-1), Lincoln (6-7) & Casa Grande (11-2)
Grant (Defending State Champs), Lincoln (Defending League Champs) & Casa (Defending League Champs)
Where is the comparison? Please splain it to us all Tiger.

Too bad they lost two of those games. Petaluma took care of business in ALL of them. That is great they played Grant, but they got killed. I have news for you Owl, every team can get bown out by Grant, it means nothing. Did Monty do it with some grat style Im unaware of? And Petaluma beat Casa by four touchdowns

That is what is great about this board, we can all agree to disagree. i really hope this is a god game and not a blow out, Montgomery will match up better size wise than Petaluma. Montgomery really has only one real assignment.... Slow down Soma, because you are not going to stop him
